Re: the vanilla bean update
Ed, There was about a half tank of 10 year old gas in it. Harvey poured in about a gallon of turpentine and let it soak in for about an hour. Then added about 4 gallons of fresh gas. It turned over for about 20 seconds and then caught and started running. My8950, I had a 1979 supra that made all of ...

Re: the vanilla bean update
Hey Ed, When rob booth and I were talking about painting the xr, he wanted to use a color called cool vanilla. As the process went on, he stated calling it the vanilla bean. Then Jeff herson made a small plaque that he gave me at Carlisle that had vanilla bean engraved on it. When I got out of the n...

the vanilla bean update
So, it's been over 10 years since the vanilla bean has moved from my parent's garage. Today Harvey Hakbar meet me there and worked his magic. After that we turned the key and after only about 20 seconds it roared back to life. Even with 10 year old has in the tank. So, now I have turned it over to h...

Re: whos car is this?
i just saw the bottom of the 1st post about the exterior mod list. that's really pretty simple.
rob booth front bumper
rob booth arches
rob booth grille
chevy silverado headlights
polished tail lights
saab 9000 spoiler
and i believe 8" wheels up front and 9" in the back.

Re: whos car is this?
sadly that car is no more!
the sealer was flawed and the paint ripped off in big sheets. rob then stripped the whole car down to the bare shell and i believe it still sits that way now since he found another shell to play with.

Re: XR4TI's with Jetta Bumpers?
I'm curious. Why do some people do this? :? i did it because rob booth started using his jedi mind tricks on me and i just smiled and brought him a big bag of money. oh yeah, i like the way it looks too. mike, my foot and your nuts have an appointment with each other at carlisle this year!!!! unles...

Re: Looking for 4.6 32V Mod motor into XR4ti info.
i'd say the best place to start would be to contact jim deberry. him and chris crawled all over a stock xr8 taking measurements and his stuff is the best. not cheap, but the best. he can tell you all about putting a 4.6 in an xr. demitri also can give you bunches of info. rob booth can give you almo...

Re: The 200mph Merkur
if this is the wing you are talking about, then yeah it is just coincidence. this one was imported from europe to trade to nick for the original moonstone blue wing from my cossie. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Ford-Sierra-Cosworth-rear-spoiler-Merkur-XR4Ti-/190728098901?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_...

says the guy who grafted a grand prix nose to his xr.DPDISXR4Ti wrote:That actually looks okay. Any further details on it?
i don't like it. the front doesn't match the style of the rest of the car.
sort of like putting a mk4 supra wing on the back of a 84 nissan stanza.

Re: fuel level gauge problem
you would be 100% correct on hat assumption. that plastic spacer breaks the circuit to send the signal to the slosh board and then allows the slosh board to send the signal on to the gauge. if you leave it there, it will definitely keep the circuit open and the gauge will always read empty.

Re: Ecu question
ok, i will try the same thing on my car and see what happens. i'm wondering if it is something inherent to the t-bird ecus that they simply function the egr differently than the stock ecu, since you said both your t-bird ecus don't work the egr , but your stock ecu does. i have an 8ua and a la2 here...
