Anyone tried the R1 Concepts rotors and pads?

Hi all, I was looking at rotors for the '86 I have and noticed an ad for slotted and drilled rotors and pads from this company. I have pads already and have stock wheels and brakes at this point. I am needing new rotors as they are original with lots of miles. I am changing out struts, bushings etc ...

Re: Cooling System Cleaner Alternatives

Hi all,

Ford have a coolant system cleanser called VC-1 and it is a five minute type. You can use it in the old antifreeze mix prior to draining and flushing and the refill. I use distilled water for this. I guess all of us do, right?

Re: Looking for auto bell housing for XR4Ti

I am wondering if that is somehow different tail end from the current Scorpio A4LD complete transmission I have? I have found an A4LD 2.3 liter 4 cylinder bell housing locally (2 actually) and will be using one of them for my project. Now I need to buy the following: (VENDORS NOTE HERE) Poly rear be...

Re: Looking for auto bell housing for XR4Ti

Thanks for the replies. I have been reading the FRANKENTRANNY rebuild project from the Ford Ranger users group for the last year or so, (multiple rereads) and am going to use the C3 as is. My plan is to do many of the mods in the article and want to do it with a fully separate system of parts. I int...

Looking for auto bell housing for XR4Ti

I have just rebuilt my C3 with a NOS Ford kit and plan to use it for the winter before putting in an A4LD from a Scorpio that I have at present. I would like to have another bell housing so I can have the transmission fully set up and swap it and a modified drive shaft into the car in the spring as ...

Re: 1989 Merkur Xr4Ti AGM Battery

Hi all, I had trouble with the solenoid in the door in the passenger door drawing seven amps when the car was off. I pulled the trim panel, removed the plastic sheeting on the inside of the door and then cleaned and lubed the actuator rod from the door handle to the solenoid and sprayed penetrating ...

Re: Walmart Battery Finder

I am using a 96R type battery in mine and it is rated at 590 CCA, which is why I chose it. It is a straight drop in. A 47 or 48 series will also work (H5 is like a 48 series in size.) I thought of using a 48AGM but they don't like high heat... The original battery connection was stupid and mine went...

Red XR4Ti spotted in in the wild...

I was talking with a mechanic friend of mine and he mentioned he had seen a red Merk a couple weeks ago in Tulsa. It was an 88 or 89, I guess, as it had one rear spoiler not biplane. Anyone in here?

Re: Anyone like their Chromebook?

Hi, Having only looked at those at point of purchase long ago I have to plead ignorance of knowing what special feature would it have as you mention? The software is somehow adding another feature? I would like to understand this. Please explain. Maybe I will go and look at one at Wally World to see...

Re: Anyone like their Chromebook?

A web site with free Android downloads so you could update to a new version on your Chromebook with that.

http://www.android-x86.org/

I guess a Chromebook is ARM based but not sure. This site has versions for x86 like normal PC stuff and ARM for tablet type gear.

Re: Shopping for the XR4Ti for Christmas

Hi all,

Thanks for the reply. Are the solid bushings alloy of some sort? Not poly I would guess. Do they use the original bolt or need the longer ones offered by mc2?

Re: Shopping for the XR4Ti for Christmas

I think I need blinker fluid as well... Sorry, standard mechanics joke when wanting to confuse folks. I think I am now good to go at the moment. I am really looking forward to feeling the difference when these are all installed in the car. Oh, I forgot, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all! :D I have enjoy...
