Re: Any one painted their wheels?

Thanks for the news about the paint. I will try my luck and see how it goes. As for other phone dials, I would probably order 17" or 16" wheels if I was going to get other wheels as tire selection would be better.

Cheers

Any one painted their wheels?

Hi all, I am considering repainting the wheels for the '86 and they are silver phone dials. I have been looking at dupli color silver paint kits with clear coat as a two step process. Anyone used those kits? My wheels are fine with no dings, just faded and not shiny as before. I look forward to repl...

A good place for driveshaft repair or mods...

Hi all, I guess most of us live near large urban areas and can have help with machine work if we need it. In the case of driveshafts they are certainly specialized items and perhaps not so easy to get help with in your area. I am familiar with a company in Tulsa that do excellent work and could rebu...

Re: Source for replacement head

Hi all, While in this topic of getting a head I must say i would not trust a junk yard pull head at this late date for the 2.3 engine. I know it could be cheap but will it have cracks? In '99 I had a search for a head and it took four tries to get one without being cracked, then. I finally had to re...

Re: Source for replacement head

Hi all,

A head for an '86 from ATK would be $465 plus tax and they are not showing one for an '89 at present, it seems. These are loaded heads, not empty.

Re: I see a couple of XR4Ti's for sale on line

Hi all,

I am sure there is no listing for a Merk in the craigslist auto section so he chose Mustang. Maybe?

How does an '89 have an '88 coolant bottle? If it runs OK that doesn't look too bad. I have not seen leather that color before in person.

Re: What current UK diff mount matches the XR4Ti?

In the listings they show XR4i compatible mounts for the poly diff mount. I believe those would work. I guess I can spend the money and find out. I see them for 129 Pounds plus shipping. I can even choose a color of anodizing, as if I care about that. I had not considered Scorpio parts. I will look ...

What current UK diff mount matches the XR4Ti?

Hi all, I note that MC2 say they are out of the poly differential mount now. I am wanting to install one and see them for sale in EBAY UK. I know the Cosworth won't fit right but the others shown seem to be a match. Yes? (Poly only wanted, not solid, for use in intended daily runner.) I see all the ...

Re: XR4Ti Fallacy Thread

If a customer is in the dealership and does not like the Lincoln models enough to buy one, show him the XR4Ti. (I am paraphrasing from memory the marketing and sales material brochure for sales staff I read in a dealer showroom in Dallas.) They had no clue why I bought the car, as stated to me by th...

Re: Axle Replacement - Flange seal/gasket?

Hi all,

It is hard not to use Rock Auto for an XR4Ti as most parts places have little to none for parts for them. I looked at a store that did not offer rotors and ordered off line as a result.

YMMV of course.

Re: Anyone tried the R1 Concepts rotors and pads?

Thanks for the replies.

I should mention my '86 is still using phone dial wheels so I doubt the larger rotors would fit which is what had me looking at stock size rotors. I do like the dual piston calipers in your link though!

Anyone tried the R1 Concepts rotors and pads?

Hi all, I was looking at rotors for the '86 I have and noticed an ad for slotted and drilled rotors and pads from this company. I have pads already and have stock wheels and brakes at this point. I am needing new rotors as they are original with lots of miles. I am changing out struts, bushings etc ...

Re: Cooling System Cleaner Alternatives

Hi all,

Ford have a coolant system cleanser called VC-1 and it is a five minute type. You can use it in the old antifreeze mix prior to draining and flushing and the refill. I use distilled water for this. I guess all of us do, right?
