Re: Won't idle after a short drive
Guess I'm just speaking with my experiences mostly lol. Thought I read through out the years people having idle and missing issues. Didn't mean no disrespect or nothing, thanks to everyone for all the help.

Re: Won't idle after a short drive
So far I have checked the fpr it holds a solid 25psi. checked the vam and seems to be doing right, looked over the vacuum lines and can't find anything. Not saying this is the issue, but 25psi is way too low. Pull vacuum line off when idling, set fuel pressure to 38-42psi, put vacuum line back on. ...

Re: Won't idle after a short drive
Yes timing is correct and engine has a complete fresh tune up. Changed computers and it fixed the issue. Put the PF3 in it and ran fine today, so far lol. Both EEC are from parts cars. Idle is still a little high but better than it quiting. Thanks for the recommendations Sorry I said pf3 in my origi...

Won't idle after a short drive
Car starts fine but can smell gas on start up and idles a lil high. I just tap the pedal and it idles down but it seems like the issue doesn't happen til after I drive down the road. Just a trip around the block and when I push the clutch in the rpms drop way down at idle, it will run up and down (s...

Best way to change the O2 sensor?
Gonna change the O2 sensor since it's the OEM and was just wondering if there is a good/more helpful way to change it? It being in the car for so long thought maybe warm up the exhaust some first, spray it down with WD40 or just good ole elbow grease.

Re: XR4ti won't start! Any suggestions?
Thanks for all the suggestions. Before I read sabre's reply I changed TFI module and still nothing. I came in the house to cool off and checked the forum and unplugged it as sabre said. The pump kept running, I tried changing the PCM ,unhooked the battery and got one of my two spare PCMs(the PF2) un...

Re: XR4ti won't start! Any suggestions?
Update: Changed coil and cap still no fire. Probably change the module next. Gonna pull the inline filter and see how nasty it is, I know it needs to be changed anyway. Just can't figure out why the intank pump keeps running and doesn't prime and stop? Like it's not building enough pressure(weak or ...

Re: XR4ti won't start! Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm gonna check/change out some of those. I have a lot of extra used parts from several parts cars over the years. I have a milk crate with about 5-6 distributors, two ECMs (PF2 & PF3) plus an extra good fuel tank I was gonna replace it with from a 40k xr that was wre...

XR4ti won't start! Any suggestions?
Just to start off. Want to say hi to all the fellow members. It's been years since I've been on here so I had to start a new profile. Here is the current issue/problem. Drove my XR to the local grocery store last week, car drove fine on the way there, came out of the store tried to start it and it j...
