...mechanics in Mass and/or New England.

Thnx!
You'd be surprised, when I had my XR lots of folks I ran into remembered them fondly. We do a lot of routine stuff ourselves, but our trusted mechanic for the past decade or so has been Bobby's Auto in Walpole: 1171-R Main St (508) 660-0001

Re: 1985 XR4ti V8 Conversion For Sale in Denver, Colorado

The car looks lovely, well done, and definitely has some significance given the Rapido connection. The poor presentation will most likely hurt the value here. If you want top $ (and who doesn't?), the car deserves to be properly detailed in the engine bay & interior, and the documentation file shoul...

Why is there a flex or kia soul parked next to you? I hope it's the 250hp engine ecoboost but then why keep the hood closed?
You are looking at the import section of the car show, lol.

Re: RockAuto Closeout Items

You sold your 89 5spd why? I don't plan on selling mine so don't even ask. LOL. The short story is, too many cars, too little time/funds/space to get them where I want them. The '89 was so nice, and with 37K on it, such a time capsule that I hardly drove it since I bought it in 9/18. I collected Mo...

Re: '80 Cossie Capri Concept on BAT

This one sold last year @ Mecum for $56k. The celebrity build & one off concept probably took it a bunch further than it's foxbody underpinnings would suggest.

Re: RockAuto Closeout Items

Also, there is a pretty short window for returns, so inspect your goods right away & process any returns promptly.

Sold @ $47,500. Not bad to own a true one off done by some very well-known & talented people.

Re: RockAuto Closeout Items

If you buy anything from CrockAuto, SAVE THE BOX. Any returns must be in the original packaging. I just sent back a Y pipe/catalytic converters for my son's Yukon, since they were made w/a flat flange whee it hooks to the intermediate pipe vs. a ball & socket design like the factory (& every replace...

'80 Cossie Capri Concept on BAT

Pretty cool. Doesn't it just make you want to put on your Ray Bans and do hot laps until the brakes give up?

Re: Let's see it. Your daily whip. Show us.

Nothing special: '06 Silverado 1500HD 4x4 crew cab. Dark blue w/gray leather, just turned 125k. Paint is falling off in a few spots but mechanically this thing has been near perfect. Hell the original brakes lasted 115k mi.

Re: Knock under engine acceleration

Timing & fuel quality related issues usually result in pre ignition knocking or pinging, and are generally not present in low load situations (ie - steady state cruising, idling). It doesn't sound like this is what you are describing. Valve train issues usually present as a "ticking" sound, and it d...

Re: New DD and trying to decide what direction with my XR.

I've always told people that my goal is to build the car the way Ford SHOULD have built it in the first place. I'm in the same demographic (53 here), and get what you're saying. Your statement above probably means different things to different people, because (worldwide) Ford built Sierras in so ma...

Re: New DD and trying to decide what direction with my XR.

Is a well executed V8 XR "more special" than one with a fine running 2.3t? You are the best person to answer that one, but I would say they are equally special. One you have now, the other you could make with a considerable investment of time & $$$. Personally, as much as I love the Windsor, I'd be...
