A mostly complete engine, minus upper intake, throttle body and ac compressor. Good heads, distributor and alternator. Let me know what you need. Hoping to have the engine hauled off in a couple weeks. Parts are located near Dayton, OH.

Re: Flood damage pics and videos
I definitely don't want to scrap the shells, if I can get them to someone can use them. I know I could get them running perfectly. I have however lost the ambition to do so for these vehicles. Also, I don't really have the time and financial resources to sit on these while I fix them. The Scorpio wa...

Re: Flood damage pics and videos
that is the worst Tony, what makes it disgusting is that the insurance companies don't cover it. Why do we let them get away with that? Well, with just liability coverage, that's what I get. The flood coverage I have only covers the dwelling. So, damage like garage door, patio door, drywall, water ...

Oh, and make sure your ECU ground is good. You'll get all kinds of weirdness if that isn't grounded properly. Orange cable. Strapped on turbo somewhere.

Re: Just joining the XR4Ti crowd hoping someone knows this c
I've not read much of this thread, so you may have already been down the path of replacing these items: 1. TPS. XRs seem to be very picky about TPS quality and adjustment. If you're getting weird response at certain throttle positions, look to the TPS needing replaced. 2. Smoke? Could be turbo seals...

Re: Flood damage pics and videos
Jeeze, Tony, those pics are painful to look at. I actually feel sick. I'm so sorry. It was really unreal to watch it all happen. I had time to move the cars, but had no idea that we would flood so badly. I've had 12" or so of water in that area before, and never in my wildest dreams could I im...

Witness the horror of a Scorpio, XR and Contour being almost completely flooded. This happened a few weeks ago in my back yard. I'm most likely going to part out the vehicles and scrap the remains. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover this loss, so I'm without a running vehicle. Luckily, my wife's...

Re: Scorpio Change Delineation Thread
Something else to add that I cannot confirm exactly, and I don't know if this is even of interest, but it is something to note. The environmental control computer thingy had a change at some point. The control voltage for the high speed fan operation was increased from about 5 volts to around 10 vol...

Re: Rough Shift in Reverse
One other possibility is that the pilot bearing is worn and grabbing the input shaft causing it to spin a bit even when the clutch is in. Also, a failing clutch release bearing can do this.

Re: Convoy to Carlisle?
Is there a mini-gathering at Grayson's on Thursday eve? If so, I'll swing by to hang out for a while. Once again not making the trek to Carlisle. But, things are looking more positive for the trip in '14 for me.

I've seen quite a few Ohio folk in this forum, are we mostly all from NE Ohio or do we have some Columbus area folk around here? Would love to meet up with someone who's had some solid success out of this platform and pick their brain over a beer and wings :) You've got some company in Central OH. ...

Scorp fan clutch locked. Replace or go electric?
So the Scorpio now sounds like a Chevy Blazer when I rev the engine. Fan clutch is basically almost locked up. Should I source a replacement clutch, or go electric? If electric, any recommendations on fan and temp switch? Where to locate the temp switch?
Thanks!
Tony
Thanks!

Re: Scorpio heat/AC blower stuck ON
Sounds like a bad control module-- unless you're really good at ferreting out those kinds of things, I believe Merkur Depot has them: http://www.merkur.50megs.com/catalog_1.html I'm assuming it is the module (if you're referring to the fan controller on the airbox). I'm "guessing" that th...

Scorpio heat/AC blower stuck ON
Anyone ever have their Scorpio heat/AC blower stick "on"? Mine now stays on, even when I set the controls to "off". Is there another relay driving that fan other than the one built into the fan controller on the air box? I have another controller that I have to repair. The connec...
