XR at Virginia International Raceway

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVlmRT_peFU

Took the XR to VIR this weekend and had a great time. Thought I'd share a video of me picking off a nice Porsche to do some of my fellow XR owners proud!

Saw Jeff Web there too, hopefully he'll have some video soon.

Re: XR at the Ultimate Track Car Challange, this weekend

Despite being so close...I've entered the hate part of this relationship and am left with too many things left to do and not enough time or energy. As such, unfortunately, I will not be participating at this event this year after all. Bummer. I will, however, be at VIR and Summit Point throughout th...

Re: XR at the Ultimate Track Car Challange, this weekend

JB - thanks! It's a fun, love/hate project. Esteban, thanks. Yep, still on the 2.3. It's been an interesting road managing the heat more than anything. It's one thing for it to run for 3 pulls on the dyno, but when I take it to the track and run full throttle for 30+ minutes, a whole new set of chal...

XR at the Ultimate Track Car Challange, this weekend

Hey all, Just a quick note that I'll be representing the XR world at the 2012 Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge this weekend at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, VA. Event info here: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/UTCC12/ I am not going there with the hopes of w...

For the collectors - Ford resale letter

My father (the original owner of my XR) found an old document from Ford and I wanted to share it with the club. I haven't seen this letter floating around.

A Standing white flag means slow vehicle - slow car or EV in this case. A waving white means last lap.

Re: Hyperfest @ Summit Point, WV

Nope, definitely had Hoosiers on :-/. They're old and ready to be changed though! He didn't hit the brakes at first, you're right. And I couldn't see around that wide thing to know what was up! Made for a fun story and a new friend though. Like the exhaust flame when I downshift to take off again? P...

Hyperfest @ Summit Point, WV

I went to Hyperfest at Summit Point Raceway this weekend and managed to get the car out for a few sessions. Got to meet Rob Booth there as well and take him on a ride, and am looking forward to some pics he took. During one of the sessions on Saturday (Advanced group, no TT on Saturday), I was chasi...

I wonder why you chose to do things the most difficult, and yet, not very strong way possible? I hear there's stronger design diffs with a choice of spool, locker, twirly gear-one wheel peel wonders and (gasp) 3 or 4 pinion clutch plate LSD---what serious cars generally choose first. I've heard som...

Peter- How the hell are you? Rather than custom stub-shafts, have you considered getting the GM-spec Torsen, which will be 26-spline? Just make sure you get the right pitch on the splines since there may be a couple different ones used. Hey Brad! Doing well - busy but good. You? The T2R only comes ...

28 Spline Stub Shafts?

What's happening Merkursport! I'm putting a 7.5" Torsen T2R diff in my track car, but in order to do so I need 28 spline stub shafts (that go in the diff) instead of the stock 26. I post this for two reasons: 1. Has anyone addressed this already? 2. If not, I'm going to have custom stub shafts ...

Any particular reason why only 200 copies? Worldwide I'm sure it will be a quick sellout. Pete I'm not entirely sure Pete. It's just the limit that Ford put on the copyright release. It took a while for me just to get it in writing, and I didn't want to press it any farther. It might just be a stan...
