Re: Saginaw Power Steering Pump Conversion

Haha. LubeGard power steering additive is only ~$7.00. As the kids all say these days, "Right??!!" These pumps are ubiquitous, and cheap as chips. When the thing wears out, swap another one in there, and off you go. :dunno I admire all the work you've done on this, Brad, especially the exquisite do...

Re: Information

Hello Lee, I would start with some pictures of what you have, so we have an idea of what we're dealing with. I kind of doubt anyone would want the whole vehicle (but they might), so it seems to me a part-out is in order until someone comes to haul the rest of the shell to the recycler. See this post...

Re: Always fight photo ticket

The best way to fight this rot is to ignore the tickets. They have to send a process server, because tickets sent in the mail do not constitute legal service. If they succeed in doing that (and they have learned that there are enough suckers who mail in the fines for them not to bother), then fight ...

Re: Won't idle after a short drive

Re-pinned LA3 shouldn't pose any wiring changes when going back to a PF3/Small VAM. The only thing that changes is static timing, which goes from 10* BTDC to 13* BTDC, SPOUT disconnected. Have you done that, and checked all your other settings (TPS, cam)?

Re: Tachometer Repair

BTW Mike, on MCA facebook yesterday there was a post with comments by a member who couldn't figure out how to mount and hang your Merkur Depot SS exhaust system, so he seemed unlikely to buy it although he was seriously considering it. You could answer his questions satisfactorily; no one else coul...

Re: Merkur Depot Exhaust Fitment

3" exhaust, the info is up on the site: http://merkur.50megs.com/photo2_4.html The 3" exhaust uses all of the factory hangers. It hangs where the factory exhaust hangs. Downpipe bolts to the turbo where the stock downpipe bolts to the turbo. Downpipe uses the factory hanger on the trans mount cross...

Re: Comprehensive Upgrade List for XR?

Its tough to nail down as there are so many options in 2019. Most of the info on the encyclopedia, merkurxr4ti.com, mc2, merkurtech is a little dated, but still pretty good. 75% is still sound advice today. The other 25% is simply outdated as "better ways" have come along long since the [insert web...

I love Targas; T-Tops, not so much, although I get it, structurally. I like that they made the backlight removable.

Re: Seats, right to left swap

Of course. And I want them to be comfortable (because I like people, and driving them places sometimes), and to be able to get in and out as easily as possible, for which Ford did their part with that generous back seat and those marvelous, sliding seat belt rails. 'Ya know, if 'ya do a few simple m...

Re: Seats, right to left swap

They will if you power them (using Scorpio seat harness). My Scorpio seats are powered in the XR and they have more of a "lean forward" function vs. "fold forward" function of the stock XR seats. ...and they won't go as far forward as they should, and then you have to re-adjust them to your preferr...
