Re: European Version Of The Pinto Engine

I believe you're referring to the 2.0 engine which was the basis for the YB (Cossie) engines and some Pinto engines, but not the same as the 2.3 used as the basis for the Lima.

Re: Motorsport fmic

Look at the kind of power the rs500s were making in the British Touring Car Championship. Cars dominated with no issues whatsoever. RS500 shorty and RS500 intercooler should be fine for just about any modified xr4ti, even the big hp holset guys. This. ^^^ Plus, Mike's new shorty that's an inch thic...

Re: XR4ti rear disc with Scorpio calipers

I guess my other concern is the width, you stated it is wider, so I'd also possibly have clearance issues with the tires. The Scorpio I have doesn't have stock wheels, it has some that fit closely, so they are not the right size. Without knowing the specs on your wheel/tire setup, bear in mind that...

HPS does, that is the throttle body inlet if my poor memory serves correctly.
Yep-- closest to 60mm.
Edit, I think it's 2 3/8" = 60mm.....I've been thinking about that since posted originally.
Oh, yeah, total typo, definitely 2 3/8".

If anyone has metric sizes, and/or carries stuff in 1 3/8", I'm down with that...

Re: New owner of a new to me xr4ti

Haha... when not DD'ing a 30 year old XR4Ti, I DD a 30 year old Saab. Ain't no thing. I know. With internet parts sources and info, you can drive most any car you want.... Everyone ribbed me over a bmw I had a few years ago. All the same excuses, parts are too expensive, too hard to work on. I dug ...

Thanks for documenting this Paul.

Me being me, I'd probably use this as an excuse to do a V6 engine swap so as to avoid the complicated part.

Re: DIY Air box

Good job! Many overlook this, but I think it's helpful and finishes the job properly. The heat shielding provided should be adequate, and the cool air comes in through the stock hole(s). :cheers
