Re: installed HALLMAN Boost Controller but...

Maybe post a pic of it and how you have it mounted/connected. As sameguy said, minimum boost is set by the Waste Gate Actuator (WGA) and is nominally ten PSI. What is the level you are seeing on the gauge?

Re: Horn stopped working

Also, run 12V through the horn itself and see if it honks. They get old and die, too. I had a couple that had finally gone through enough puddles and monsoon drenchings, and would only make faint, suffering-farm-animal noises.

Shouldn't a Member's Only Jacket be tagged Member's Only?
Maybe they mean the style. I remember buying a Members Only jacket when they first came out in the late 70's, lol  . It's a nice jacket- wonder what it'll go for?

Re: Turbo - block coolant feed nipple removal.

Flow in the area you have outlined is INTO the VC hardline, FROM the turbo center section. There, it CONFLUENCES with the coolant coming out of the thermostat housing, where they both continue to flow towards the rear of the engine. The nipple in question is depicted in your illustration-- just foll...

Re: Turbo - block coolant feed nipple removal.

Nope it's from the upper tube to the turbo then the lower tube. That flex line that screws into the side of the block is full of oil, it drains back down into the oil pan. Sounds like this is what the op is referring to. OP asked about the COOLANT feed from the block ("... to find out if outside nu...

No, coolant is from block to return tube on the side of the head; oil is from oil pressure switch tee on the head to the pan via a fitting on the block.
Yes, coolant flow goes "uphill," which is counterintuitive, but correct as a result of pressure being higher in the block.

That's the problem with being an enthusiast... you focus on what you can do and not what you should do. :P
That's signature line material right there.
I second that, and guilty as charged.

You're not that far from Russ Harness at Rapido Group in Tygh Valley/Wamic in Oregon. He may have something.

Re: Apostrophe Society Shuts Down...

I think it's critical to not conflate laziness and efficiency. Failure to do so results in all technology being tagged as laziness; after all, we could knit our own clothes and walk ourselves to work in the morning. You vs u just might be foot vs car. If "u" gets the job done and saves you two keys...

Re: Apostrophe Society Shuts Down...

I agree with most of what you're saying-- nevertheless, I still see ignorance and apathy as the main drivers of these changes. I would love to see more consciously-driven change.

Re: Apostrophe Society Shuts Down...

I like language, especially the written kind, but if we don't need something (like, say, an apostrophe) to communicate meaning, then it's wasteful and it should be gotten rid of. Here's the crux of the issue-- you're talking about a knowledgeable and intentional modification of language, which I wo...

OTOH, if I do that then I gotta replace the motor mounts at the same time as, man, it would not get easier to do that job than with the transmission gone. :)
Motor mounts are fairly easy with just a floor jack and a pair of jackstands... you can do them anytime.

Re: Why are new cars so expensive?

Ford takes it seriously: https://www.autonews.com/commentary/hacketts-remedy-sticker-shock YMMV Interesting read-- I hope he means it. Case in point: I might have used my car's CD player once or twice, in five years and 60,000 miles. I have never once used the navigation feature (I guess I know whe...
