Re: Production date?

Hi Ken,

You'll find the build date stamped on the front of the left (driver's) side strut tower, e.g., 11 21 for Nov. 21st, etc.

That is, if it hasn't been painted over.

Re: Canadian in love with Group A racing.

Anyone upset with anyone turning an XR into a race car is simply not seeing the highest purpose to which they can be dedicated to, and has their priorities all wrong.

Best of luck with the endeavor, and don't forget to bring us along! :cheers

Re: Car Show Season

Funny how everything is just starting here... you could say it's our Spring. It's almost as if we were in the Southern Hemisphere.

Re: Best Valve Cover Gasket

I've never had any issues with their products. It's understood we need the Ranger VC gasket for the XR, and this appears to be a similar situation.

Re: FS: Euro arm rest delete

Other than to be different, is there a reason for this on ours? Well, you have a nice, new part instead of an old, brittle, broken, wobbly one... it might help clean up the interior a bit. Personally, I like having somewhere to rest my elbows on long drives; but if that doesn't matter to you, then ...

Re: How did you intercool

Not only does in the front, out the hood flow well, it creates down force at the front. Very true, or at least kills lift; but that can come later. Point is, don't tear up the firewall with ideas of having air exit into the cabin, or something like that. Battery location can also exit down and out ...

Re: How did you intercool

In the front and out through the bottom of the car, along with the rest of the engine compartment air, is just fine, too. No need to butcher up the car...

Re: How did you intercool

Battery box has good airflow, has been measured by people who know what they are doing. Search MCAF and www.turboford.org.
www.merkurtech.com has lots and lots of pix of setups in Picture Pages. Sort by "Intercoolers."
