Top Strut Mount Cover and Polwerflex Bushing

http://www.mc2racing.com/images/fbushingkit_large.gif I'm torqueing down my front strut cover (or caps if you will) with new powerflex strut mount bushings from mc2 as shown in the upper left hand corner of the attached picture. Once I torque past a certain point (not even close to the 35 lb-ft) th...

It's all a personal taste thing, but I would keep it relatively simply. Maybe yellow, but keep that thin black accent piece of molding that runs along the side. On the other hand I've always liked black and yellow. Reminds me of the old Buick GSX. http://www.musclecarcalendar.com/CarShows2004/Woodly...

Those should look good. I think you'll have clearance, you can always use some small wheel spacers if you have minor clearance issues.

Which diff is it? the .390 and (IIRC) .410 Beemer diffs are excellent choices for a performance Merkur. Call Hugh and Phil at PM Motorsports-- they may want it, or they may be able to help you with overcoming the difficulties of the modification. You may be holding gold! It's the .410 e34 (which mea...

Well after reading up on differentials, I think I'm going to add the phantom grip.

I bought a bmw lsd from ebay awhile back, but swap looks more involved then I had anticipated. So back on ebay it goes.

There is a lot of variance between different tire manufacturers, then you have variance between each car. With our cars we are pushing them to hold the absolute maximum tire size, it can be real challenge. Anyway, I went with 17's so my brakes would fit, plus I like the way they look. 17x7.5 with 24...

The Ranger tall block. Ya know, the 2.5l that came from the factory in the Ranger? Blocks are the same dimensionaly. The cranks (yielding a different stroke) are different. There is no ranger tall block. Nor is there a need for a tall block to get to the 2.5L. Not worth it (IMHO) for 300 hp. As oth...

asking persmission to use it, btw It isn't my picture, taken from www.fordfuelinjection.com. I bought the alternator through them. It does seem a like a good idea to update the large wire. Anyway, reading up on the swap at different places (such as turboford), it seems that those in the know recomm...

Thanks for the replies guys.

It turns out my battery cable was not bolted down tight enough. It would easily turn the engine over, but apparantly wasn't providing enough constant juice to the fuel pump.

Anyway, it's working fine now.

Thanks again.

3G Alternator install, no start condition

I have an 86 XR4ti, upgraded to a 3G 160 amp alternator. Here's a picture of the one I bought from www.fordfuelinjection.com. http://www.turboford.net/ubb/uploads/00002730/3Galternator06.jpg As you can see the alt comes wired and ready to go. I didn't upgrade any of the wiring, but probably should h...

Welcome to the board. Saab radiator is good espescially if you are looking at mounting an intercooler under it. What are your horsepower goals and plans for the car? I don't recall how far you can take the stock injectors, but it seems with that turbo you might be reaching their limit. Really depend...
