oil in antifreeze
My '88 XR radiator cracked and the engine got hot. It still runs well but I am getting a little oil in the coolant reservoir. I don't see any in the oil as of yet. Anyone had this happen? I need to fix it if possible as I need to sell the car in good condition if possible. I 'm wondering if it could...

cossy grill
I have a brand new NACS cossy grill I am going to sell. I am in SC. The shipping was killer from Canada when I got it- like $60.00. I will sell it for $150 and shipping will be a whole lot less!

LA3 base timing-10 or 13 deg?
I have been running my LA3 at 13 base timing but I saw a post on IMON where the LA3 should be set at 10. Any body now for sure?

I run the contour tires on my '88 with 205-45-16s on the rear and 40s on the front. No problem :) except that the ride is harsher than I like. These are getting long in the tooth so I would like to replace them. I thought that I could use 205-50-16s all around for a better ride or maybe 215-50-16s o...

I have always wondered about the pilot bushing and the shaft. Is the V8 shaft smaller than the I4 trans shaft ? I have never seen either and I assume :) it is smaller on the V8 so you need a pilot bushing to make it work but then why would you need to turn the V8 shaft down to use it without the pil...

update on C-3 problem
I crawled under the XR today to look for obvious problems in the linkage, vacuum line and anything else. I still have a small leak at the fill tube but other than that all seemed normal. I added some trans medic stuff for sticking valve body valves and started it up. I drove it around the neighborho...

Thanks for the replies. I have an '88 with a 5 speed (t-9) which I fool with and drive too. The '86 is a really nice condition California car. My wife needs an auto for medical reasons (and it gives me a reason to have two XRs :) I have thought of swapping the T-9 for a T-5 in the '88 at some point ...

Auto trans experts help!
My 86 XR is having some trouble with its transmission. It has been running fine until yesterday. On my way home from work as I slowed down for a light I noticed some shuttering coming from what I thought might be the rear brakes or rearend. It occurred only when the speed of the car came down to abo...
