The stock oil makes the T9 really hard to shift when cold. I should think that 75W90 gear oil (nonsynthetic) would even be worse. Years ago, my mechanic suggested GM #12345349 semi-synthetic trans oil, and I've been using it in each XR4Ti I've owned since then (I'm on my 5th one). Very happy - shift...
