It was July 1990 and I was driving past the local dealer in my 87 4-banger stanger and saw a red one on the lot. It had just come in from a lease with 36K miles. It had bald tires and a fuel or air problem that combined made the test drive very rough. I knew nothing about the cars, but I had to have...

Ed, it is register and stored in PA, but I live in the DC area. I'd bring it here, but it works out better for me there. Rooster, if memory serves the build date is like Sept. 85. The body cladding is the textured type like the 85 and early 86's. The car has leather and a 5 spd. Do you have any pics...

the awakening

Hey Guys~ although I regularly creep this site, it's been awhile since I've posted. Recently I woke up my car after a 6 year nap and wanted to check in and see if any of you had any suggestions (aside from the common work) on what I might need/want to look at since the car has sat so long. All rubbe...

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm definitely a true Merkur fanatic -even though I seldom post on this forum. To answer a few of your questions. * Demonfire - the car has 53,xxx miles on it * Ed Lijewski - Northern Virginia what? I don't know what that is, so I think it's safe to say I'm not on i...

I'm planning on going this year. My stress is I haven't really driven the car since the last and only time I went to Carlisle, which was in 2000. I'll definitely need to meet up with the I-70 /76 PA convoy for support if the old girl runs into some touble. Afterall, she's 20 years old now.
