Re: Forum update coming soon

However, I do have two suggestions: 1] Make "pro silver" the default and 2] in the posts, change the background from light blue to white. Rational - our eyes have been trained to read dark [black] on white, therefore...

Re: Liftgate Switch?

Per a note scribbled on my 89 EVTM, p123, the" Liftgate Lock Switch" in an "ajar" sensor, sending a signal to the Graphic Display. p83 shows the "Liftgate Ajar Sensor", but I couldn't find the relevant wires to p123. Might have to do with me having enough Margaritas today. Obviously, "Switch" vs "Se...

Re: Liftgate Switch?

Center console IIRC. They are not supposed to work with the engine running for some reason. It can be bypassed easily enough. The wiring should be in the car for it. You'll probably need a pigtail for the last foot or so to the switch location in the console. Johny, I never saw any extra wires in t...

Re: Searched and can't find location of ground points

Hi Johnny, In the event you haven't remedied your fuel pump issue, the following might help. Keep in mind, my experiences are with the Scorpio, and I know next to nothing about the XR. However, diagnosing electric gremlins is becoming an educational endeavor. Lessons learned about electrical diagnos...

Re: Driver door lock

Having the Shop and Elec & Vac manuals makes this job a lot easier... Disconnect battery or Fuse 10 Remove the screw holding the interior door handle assembly. 2 Rods from handle go to lock mechanism in door to pillar. FYI Another rod goes from door lock assembly to its motor. When pulling on one of...

Re: Eliminating/Disabling ABS & Accumulator Issue?

Hi John, I read the thread you referenced viewtopic.php?f=29&t=10266&hilit=brake+relay+clicking It appears the accumulator was the cause & solution. A few more thoughts for you to consider... You wrote “I do get a single relay click when I step on the brakes, and if I pump them a bit while still on ...

Hi John, I finally am taking time to review Scorpio forum. If u didn't cure the front end shake... A long shot is the steering column grommet. t's located in the firewall. The tell tale sign is a jittery shaking of the steering wheel. Steering column is affixed to chassis under dashboard, but gromme...
