Re: Car Show Season

Small world...

Ask him to please check with his Parts Manager or another old time employee if the dealership might have any Merkur parts collecting dust.

My favorite local parts manager [since retired] from local dealership would find OEM parts in some of those "once-upon-a-time Merkur" dealerships.

Have you used an infrared thermometer to read the temps at various locations?

Request for Merkur emblem

The "membership" link to the club received a request for the Merkur emblem that is on the front of a Scorpio. Yes, it could be spam, but in the event it's real, it would be kind of someone to send him one. If anyone sends him one, please post on this forum, so this unfortunate soul isn't swamped wit...

The white Merkur is not Jack's. For photos go to MagentaRed's post in 2010 Carlisle archives.

"Capri"? Did you catch a typo? Jack didn't tell me about a Capri. What do you know about Jack & Capri?

Re: Car Show Season

"The 1961 Mercedes 300SL roadster parked next to me is worth about half a million bucks. It is not a replica, it's the real deal. 30 year restoration was just completed. The trim alone cost about twice as much as my car." I bet you drive more miles on yours enjoying it more than the garage queen.Was...

Re: Marine/Aviation Grade Wire Termination

Brad,

Excellent info!

How many Merkurs are suffering from inadequate electrical wiring repairs, rather than ng components? Too many people blame the component rather than first identifying proper grounding and sufficient voltage to the component.

Re: Scorpio ABS sensor substitution

If I remember correctly, when I removed them from a donor, all 4 cables were of different length. From shortest to longest: Left/front, right/front, left/rear, right/rear. Jeff Herson & Jan Talian should know for certain.

Re: Scorpio ABS sensor substitution

FYI It's my understanding, the wires [ABS to wheel] are wheel specific, but that may only be due to different lengths.

Re: Post-Carlisle Survey - Your Input is Needed!!!

1. Did you attend Carlisle this year? If not, why not? What would make you want to attend in 2020? Yes, I’d loose my high paying MCA job if I didn’t attend ;) 2. Overall, using your own criteria, how did you feel this year's Carlisle event compared to previous years? a) better than usual b) about th...
