Re: 1st endurance race in the books

You finished. This cannot be understated. It's the 1st and most important part of racing, IMHO. Congrat's on that. Thanks also for the vote of confidence on your chosen braking system. It sometimes takes flak. Despite the fact that it just plain works. Despite what some people think. We used/torture...

Re: Rear Alignment Issue

Mine was MUCH worse. The car was "mint". Zero rust. I suspect some ham fisted Juan Fangio wanna-be bounced it off a curb or 3 at some point. It was actually crabbing down the road. This was after the beam mounts were done with black Urethane, bushings too, and MC2 diff mount. The semi-trailing arms ...

Re: Power drops off rapidly after above 4,000 RPM...

I've seen MUCH worse.
I had one brought here belching black smoke upon acceleration, and the oil I drained had so much soot in it, it was like a liquid abrasive.

Re: Antenna Options

I used the antenna/cable from a Mazda 3.
I had the aftermarket version on a previous XR, and the Mazda 3 version was vastly better in every way, and cost almost noting at the JY.

Re: Engine bay wires, where to connect them

Pretty sure that 1st one is the oil pressure sending switch connecter. If not, maybe the coolant temp on the lower intake. The 2nd one is a ground cable from the block. These are often missing, and should be replaced. You can never have too many grounds. One of these was amiss on Ryan's car, and the...

Re: IAC Issues, Scorp and XR, Maybe the "EEC-IV CHIEF" Knows How To Resolve?

Non scientific, I know, but after 20+ years of trial and error, I think it's PIP related. Or something in the distributor. Something something, the distributor throws a glitch, and the EEC goes into cold start/high idle. I have "solved" high idle issues on 8-10 cars (all XR4Ti) with a distributor sw...

Good luck with your project.
There's at least a couple of guys doing Chump or LeMons with XRs.
Let me know if I can help with anything.

Re: Power Steering Fluid vs Dex/Merc vs Type F

I IMMEDIATELY recognised the view under your MH.. Right down to the bags. Didn't most of the P30 chassis wind up as postal trucks? Here in Canada that was the case. I don't encounter many overly long hills, and the ones I'm familiar with, I approach at just moving speed, esp. when towing. Getting to...
