Ben, If you are referring to a proportioning valve in line with the rear brake line, the more it is screwed in the more rear brake pressure you will have, as you back it out counter clockwise, you will decrease rear brake pressure. Ready for my high five now...

(X2) If you didn't get the kit from MC2 I would definitely replace the line. In tank rated line is hard to come across and expensive.
