Re: Duratec 2.3 engine swap
Hi guys, I actually took a weekend and mocked everything back up, so it's rolling on wheels with all the drive train back in it. I am right in the middle of building a radiator for it, but honestly, it has taken a back seat to the white comp shell that I have been caging out and building up http://f...

Re: DSP to SM build
Hi Ben, I was just poking around here and saw this. On the topic of sway bars, I was under the impression the Bondurant cars had some ridiculously large diameter bars under them. Of course, hens teeth, but supposedly there was a guy not too far from me with one.

Re: What next?
Hi guys. I'm not sure what year your car is, but another nice little mod I did to my 86' was to swap to the larger diameter master and booster. it firmed the pedal up nicely. I picked up the parts from Mike at Merkur Depot.
Re: FIRST XR
Hi and welcome. Since this is your first XR, the first order of business should be making room in your driveway, or property now for the subsequent XR's that will inevitably follow. If you have oil leaking into the drain pan, it seems you have positioned the drain pan correctly, now you should clean...

Re: Bleeding air out of fuel system and findg a coolant line
Ed's is gone? Yup, just checked his site... First Bob, now Ed. I think I may mount my last set on the wall. Support your local fabricator . When I did Barry's turbo and found the coolant drain rotted (typical...) I got Barry to call Ed. Ed came through and designed a really pretty replacement...

Re: "Ray's AKA demonfire's XR4Ti build up"
I think you are on to something. I have always felt the XR's don't have enough, well, really no plenum volume. 2.3 liters may be on the big end of things, but I think you are heading in the right direction.Ray wrote:Thoughts?

Re: The 200mph Merkur
Do you know why they replaced Fueling's header? I was always curious about that design. In some pictures I have seen the reversion chambers look ball shaped. An interesting side note, Jim Fueling's shop was on the same street as my shop. He was an interesting eccentric kind of guy, He was into a ton...

Re: I caught a thief last week
Here you go Brad. Sorry about the picture quality, I could hardly hold still after all that. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j218/100mphdaniel/IMG_2347.jpg Jeff, he had taken tool boxes from the back of the truck and had stuff in his hands when I saw him. He had also broken into another truck in t...

I caught a thief last week
I had an interesting week last week to say the least. As some of you know, I work for a race team and travel all over. last week we were in Vegas. I had parked our race car and a support truck in what I thought was a secure parking area, guarded at night by "Security". Thursday morning, ab...

Re: FMIC Piping Kits
Have you used Ebay stuff before? Or silicone intakes before? Im just curious. Because alot of the people I hear saying things like "I prefer American", or calling it cheap chinese ebay junk, infact have no experience with the actual product itself. I have indeed had experience with the st...

Re: FMIC Piping Kits
I prefer to give my money to Americans for something like this, I have found the products from HPS to be good quality for a reasonable price. There are higher quality options, but the price is accordingly higher. HPS I usually pick up my bend kits from Columbia River. They have some nice complete al...

Nice work on your doughters car, I like how you protected the core support with cardboard.
I am really so jealous though, I hear Bo gives the best head (for your Merkur). Stage three, that must have been a pretty good investment.

Re: DSP to SM build
Ben, If you are referring to a proportioning valve in line with the rear brake line, the more it is screwed in the more rear brake pressure you will have, as you back it out counter clockwise, you will decrease rear brake pressure. Ready for my high five now...

(X2) If you didn't get the kit from MC2 I would definitely replace the line. In tank rated line is hard to come across and expensive.Mike McCreight wrote:I think Jeff's asking 'cause some folks, and at least one manufacturer used fuel injection hose that wasn't rated for in-tank use.
