Yeah the engine is actually the original engine out of the Pinto, stroked/bored etc etc. He built the intake and header from scratch.

The sickest Lima you've ever heard

Hey guys, long time no see...thought i'd stop in and post a video of a local guy's Pinto he's building. I posted pics of this a long time ago...it's an old 2.5 block stroked to a 2.7 with if i remember right something like an 80mm turbo...it's ridiculous, i can't even tell you half the specs but the...

Man i'm fairly sure you could run 10 XR's together for every minute my Mustang is running to equal the carbon footprint that thing puts out. It gets gallons per mile not miles per gallon.

All you need is a couple slices of bread. Rip the bread into little pieces and cram it into the hole. Keep packing it in there. Use a hole punch that just fits into the bearing hole and hammer it in. Pack in more bread as needed. Keep packing/hammering until the bearing pops out. Most people use gre...

Dave, That's the kind of car people see on the road and go "heh, what a little piece of slow crap." They say this until gas prices go above X threshold, then they go "man, i wish i could find a car like that! that guy must be a genious." Exactly...it's all in your perspective. R...

Well here's my new DD. It's a far cry from the Merkur but you can't laugh about 43mpg. This baby goes 0-60 in (no joke) 17 seconds (as tested back in the day by Motor Trend). But, it runs like a sewing machine and it only has 161k on it so it should last me another 100k easy which is just what i nee...

He either lives in Xenia or his dad does and he lives in Dayton. He called saying he was in Dayton but we met up with him in Xenia at his dad's place.

Oh and I'm betting the new owner will be here eventually to join up. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. He had 2 other Mustangs, one of which was a really rare '82 T top coupe and he was really in love with the XR so it was good to see it go into loving hands and not someone just wanting it because t...

Ya know, it was for a few reasons. Aside from it being one of the only things of value i could flip to make money to fund the paint job....which was the biggest reason....i was always afraid to drive it. The car was CLEAN. It had a lot of chips and blemishes in the factory paint but the interior was...

Sad day

Well guys, my Merkur has moved on to another happy new owner. I'm both sad and excited. Sad because i really loved that car and enjoyed owning and driving it and i'm really gonna miss the hell out of it, excited because it's funding a much needed paint job for my Mustang (which has been 7 years in t...

Is that 8.8 in the 1/8 or what? Didn't look like a 1/4 mile pass.

Well it turned out to be the front loop that's up in the driver's side corner of the bumper that was leaking. I got under it this morning, no jack or ramps or anything, and decided to take the lazy man route and bypass only that section of loop because the rest looked like it was in pretty good cond...
