They are backwards to what you'd expect based to wheel rotation.
In fact, make sure the dust caps are secure when you're done to void the excitement I had on a wintery mountain freeway.

The purpose of the oil cooler is to cool the oil. While it's doing that it holds oil - that is volume additional to the engine.

Is it possible that most of your oil would be in the cooler/ lines/ engine, rather than the pan? you may have to add an extra quart because of the modifications. Not a bad idea - unless there's a check valve in your cooler it would drain back into the pan once shut down but may hold a quart or more...

I would expect the header to crack before the turbo goes, but you still end up chucking one good component with one bad.
