Re: low boost/loss of boost?

I'll give that a try Esteban, however, the gillis valve was run on my Talon with no problems and I also ran my Hallman Pro from the Talon on the XR with the same results.

Re: low boost/loss of boost?

3rd post down about that.

Its very tightly pulled closed and the flapper fits well in the wastegate passage, covering it completely. Also, it did this with the stock setup as well.

Re: low boost/loss of boost?

Ed, its a Motorcraft valve, plus there is the (I belive 20psi) check valve in line. I use the same ones on my Talon as do others, and I am on the high side of 27 psi on that car. The hoses from the crank case to the upper intake manifold have been also replaced with good new stuff. as for a boost le...

Re: low boost/loss of boost?

no/very little blow by, engine has low miles and has been well maintained.

pcv seems to hold pressure well on its own, plus a good strong check valve is in line.

Re: low boost/loss of boost?

as sure as I can be. It did it with the stock setup, and when I swapped thew new(old) downpipe on, I was quite careful about how the flapper door fitted.

either way, no change.

low boost/loss of boost?

hi all. 86 Xr, with new exhaust, fresh head rebuild, good compression, new pcv(motorcraft) and a check valve in line with it. Car also has ported and coated E6, big VAM/Superchip/intake. As well, small front mount intercooler and cheap bov, but even with the stock non intercooled setup it still is n...

head bolts

Hiya all :) pulled the head on mine to do the valve stem seals, and got it all cleaned up, milled, checked over etc. Now, can I reuse the head bolts? Not overheated, only approx 55,000 miles on it. Not much more than stock boost. They don't look like torque to yield, but I could be wrong. If I need ...

BuzzBomb2.3, look at Volvo 850s too. They are also designed with the springs like that. And Ford Focuses.

I strongly suggest getting steel tops for at least some of them. I am a professional mechanic and shops that I work in that have steel topped benches are always easier to work on. Clean up faster, don't get damaged, are stronger to just put big parts on without worrying etc.

I guess that would work, even being on the other side. It has to have the out and inlet hose, the level sensor and the pressure cap.
