You guys are life savers! My brother in law got a new TFI, and AutoZone tested the old one twice and it failed both tests. He's been going strong since about 6 PM yesterday. Thanks again for the advice.
V/r,
Kellan

stalling problems
Hey guys and gals, My brother-in-law is driving my car across country from Alabama to Calfornia and it's been having problems. He'll be driving just fine, cruising at 65-70, and all of a sudden it just stops. He got a tow last night to a garage and they had it running for 3 hours and it never once e...

Car trouble- looking for advice
Hello, I've had my XR for over a year now, I bought it last summer and it was my daily driver until this past May, when I was stationed in Korea. I left the car with my wife, where it sat for 6 months. I got home early November for some vacation time and with a fresh battery, the car worked like it ...

engine shops in Southeast USA
Hey everyone. I'm a proud owner of a maroon '86 XR that needs some work. The problem is I'm stationed in Korea at the moment, and I won't be back until next summer. In the meanwhile, I was wanting to try and get a new engine and find a reputable engine shop, preferably in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, ...

4WD XR
Hey everyone.
It's Friday, I'm bored and I have a question.
Can you convert an XR to have all wheel drive?
Saw a magazine article today and I couldn't help but picture a MIVEC engine from a Lan Evo in my XR but I know Evos are 4WD. Any ideas? Thoughts? Flames? It's all good, let's talk.

Reverse glow guages
Hey all http://www.streetracerparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SRP-0121 I'mma buy these gauges, but I had one question that I can't find the answer for. When you click to order, you can either go with an analog or digital inverter. What exactly is the difference between the two? Thanks in ad...

JP-8 in your engine: thoughts?
Okay, crazy as it sounds, I was talking to a retired army member over the long weekend and we got into the topic of my XR4Ti, I told him all the mods and plans I had for it and he told me that when he was in the service he took like a half cup of jet fuel and poured it into his tank, let it mix with...

6 cylinder in an xr?
Hey all, I was looking online and talking with friends about what engine I want for my xr. I wanted to either get a high performance 4 banger from ranger or I was looking at a 6 cylinder, maybe like was in the Sierra in Europe. Has anyone ever taken the time to drop a V or straight 6 into an XR? I k...

Who's actually used one of these? Replacement dashboards
Hey all. My dash is in pretty sorry shape, huge cracks all over the place. I see on ebay and I found a site that sells dash pad covers, and I was wondering if anyone had bought one and used it and if it made their dash look a lot better or if it was just a pain in the arse and wasn't useful at all. ...

Body shops?
Hey everyone. It's been raining all day here, and despite having thought to have fixed my leaking sunroof, I got into my car today for work and sat down in the driver's seat to an audible 'squish'. I've checked the seal, I made sure that the drain holes were unobstructed, and still nothing. Would an...

Name's Kel, I'm in Georgia but 5 miles south and I hit the Florida border. I'm down for a get together. Where are you located in South Georgia? I'm located in Southeast Alabama, near Dothan. I'm stationed at Moody AFB right outside Valdosta, GA. And mid November would be good for me, but around the...
