Re: fuel level gauge problem

My 86 has the slosh board as well. Is there a fix for this board? After I removed mine the gauge worked...but the needle moves all around when turning a corner. Then it takes awhile to go back up to where it was prior... Kind of annoying.

Re: Re; IC heat soak

Put a fan behind your intercooler. Think motorcycle fan...you can get really thin ones if you look around. Wire it to a relay and put a toggle switch inside the car to control it. I turn mine on while in stop and go traffic, it helps. As long as the car is moving it's not really needed though. After...

Pressurize the entire intake system with the car off. Make a plug with an air fitting to go in place of the VAM. Apply compressed air until your boost gauge shows 10 or 15 psi. You can do this with an air compressor, with the regulator set really low. Listen for leaks. If you hear hissing, you've go...

Replace ALL vacuum lines. Make sure the new lines fit tightly onto where ever they are attached. Check your base timing, make sure things line up right, etc. Maybe throw a new timing belt on while you're at it. Set base idle and TPS. Test your 02 sensor, make sure it works. Check all wheel bearings.

Did you check the flange to make sure it's perfectly flat?

edit: I see I'm not the first to ask that....lol.

But it is important to check. And you torqued the bolts down in the proper sequence???

Mustang 10-hole wheels are my favorite cheap mod.
15x7 and can be found for cheap... I paid $35 for all four of mine... less than scrap price!!
They stick out further than stock and give the car a much better stance, IMO.

Not fast, but handles really really well, and just fun to drive.

If advanced or autozone doesn't have the right one, check with NAPA if you have one locally. IIRC that is where I got mine. Looking at your pic, you have one for a non-turbo car. You MIGHT be able to use a needle valve in the vac line going to the modulator that you have on there. No clue if it woul...

Fluid level low?

Does the modulator have a tiny hole in the vac. nipple? Or a big hole like a drinking straw? Modulators for turbo cars use the one with the tiny hole.

Get one from Merkur Depot. It's a custom made part but turn around time is pretty quick.

Just re-pin your harness for the LA3. No need to have it internally repinned unless you are scared to mess with wiring. Plus if it ever goes bad you can just swap in another boneyard LA3 since your harness would be set up for it. If you can see different colors and read numbers you can compare pinou...

I've been running the 10-holes on 205-55-15's for about 2000 miles so far. On stock lugs and nuts. The only issues were rubbing on the mustang liner on passenger side. But I found out that was from the filter (in fender) preventing the liner from sitting correctly. Adding a elbow to the air filter p...
