As far as I know, there aren't too many Folvo's making huge power. So, in my opinion, if you want to go with a proven platform, go Essy. Guys are making plenty of power with iron heads too.

My theory, related to my own car, is that surge is related to load. Load has an effect on spooling. In first, I don't hit full boost until after 4k rpm. In 5th, I'll hit 10psi, easy, around in the low 2k range (which when it starts surging and I get out of it). I haven't noticed the problem in 4th. ...

If you can weld like that, just make your own crossmember. Then you can set the u-joint angle.

Well, I wasn't planning on racing, just showing up to hang out and check out the action. 10-ish sounds like a nice time for a Sunday drive.

I've got two head liner boards. I'm not sure if I'll ever use them. PM me if you are interested. They've been sitting for awhile, so I'll need to inspect them.

I went with VDO through egauges.com. I can dig out the part number if you want, shoot me an email.

Ditch the cable and go electronic. Then you don't have to worry about matching rear-end ratios to the cable gear. And, you can feed MS with the VSS.

Neato. I've been thinking about solid-mounting mine. I've got the upgraded bushings and it still feels like something is squirming around out back.
