When I bought my car it had a modified XR4Ti driveshaft, but I snapped it at the rear universal joint shortly after. I decided to replace it with a 2.3 mustang driveshaft and an adapter that fits between the driveshaft and the differential. I believe that's the easiest and least expensive way to go....

I believe the buzzer you're talking about is to warn you that you're overboosting. My car will buzz at me if I boost over 18 psi. Once you turn down the boost, that issue should go away with it. I'm sure you could disconnect it, but I think it's a good reminder that I should back off the go-juice fo...

"Significant toe-in" is an understatement. This thing is seriously pigeon-toed right now. The system is a piece of art. If it performs half as nicely as it looks I'll be highly impressed (and I have no doubt it will). I have a couple more pictures of the installation in progress that I'll post later...

T5 WC is in with a new throw-out bearing, rebuilt diff is back in, driveshaft is back in, oil and filter have been changed, and the car seems pretty healthy. Next up is the ARB set up. We unwrapped all the components today and Ray and I are very impressed with Anglin's engineering and the build qual...

As for the side-exit exhaust, we'll see how everything else turns out. and how much $$ it'll cost. It's not high on the priority list right now.

Yeah the car really didn't fight too much yesterday. The only issue was the monkeys under the car who must have knocked the throw out bearing out of the fork as we were attempting to slide the tranny back in. Next weekend, as Ray said, we'll take the tranny back out, put the bearing back in place, a...

did you ever figure out why the head gasket blew? do you have a A/f meter ? is the car running in closed loop at idle? do you have a intercooler ? are your injectors in good shape? personally, I don't think the knock sensor will fix your problem. find anything loose or anything that can rattle or v...

Not sure if this test is valid or not, but today I turned down the boost, made sure the car still died out at higher rpms, then unplugged the knock sensor and did the same pull. The car behaved as it should without the knock sensor plugged in. Does this verify that the sensor is bad or only tell me ...

Thanks! I was able to find it on the autozone site and use the part number to get it from rock auto a bit cheaper. $39 shipped works for me. Hopefully this will allow the car to actually run well! (I'm still going Megasquirt thought  )

Also, does anyone have a source for a knock sensor? It doesn't appear to be listed on rockauto or advance autoparts. Is it a merkur -specific or common interchangeable part?

We re-timed the car and got the lag problem taken care of, but now it dies somewhere between 3k and 4500 rpm. It feels like it gets scared of power and pulls timing. It would be nice to rectify the problem in the traditional "fix what's broken" way, but I'm thinking I just go with Megasquirt and hop...

Thank you all for the input. Ray and I will check it out this weekend and report back what we find. Hopefully we find the gremlin, give him a smack, and laugh about how silly we've been for the past 3 months.

I don't know exactly what the street mileage is like, as it's only been driven about 90 miles since the head gasket incident and that includes 2 autocrosses. Before that it was only getting around 16 mpg but I do tend to drive it like I stole it. I wasn't aware you can run codes on these? I will def...
