Water Pump Question

Just got a new Motorcraft waterpump for the XR, noticed that the vent hole is on the bottom, the current pump ( not original) is on the top. Does it matter?

Diff Cover Bolts

Has anyone replace the stock cover Torx bolts with something easier to work with? If so what did you use and what size were they?

Yes the shifter is very new stock T-5, just the handle is Triax

Like new, very few miles, puts shifter in the right place for easy use. $35 + shipping from VA

Looking at your pic again, I feel that you do not have a "direct Pull" bellhousing but the much more common one that uses a "dogbone" cable ( short about three inches) betwwen the clutch arm and the linkage pivot. If that is true I caution you that the dogbone cable is the weak link in that setup an...

Not easy to see, as for "tight" the other prongs will keep it in the socket secure. The prongs in question are the two that handle the voltage to the fuel pump.

What happens with the fuel pump relay is that the surrounding plastic like materials melts slightly from the heat generated by the electricl current through the pump contacts, this allows the socket contacts to slightly move away from from the relay prongs when hot, shutting off power to the fuel pu...
