Thank you Paul. I finally got them to work. I don't post pics often so it's always trial... and mostly error.

Special factory stripe kit?

Hi all. I just met a nice couple that recently bought this white '86. Very nice rust free unmolested car (automatic). I don't recall seeing this stripe kit before and told them I'd inquire with other club members. It looks factory to me. Perfectly symetric and fitted around the door handles and embl...

Not so pretty in pink.

Anybody want to fess up to this? I didn't think so. Pink's a good thing on a '65 Mustang convertible or Hemi Cuda, but on an XR4Ti it looks really bad. AND a roof rack! Musta been brought in from another city and dumped here. Surely nobody in my town would have done this. http://i39.photobucket.com/...

Yea. This transaction cost me months of sleepless nights. I'd only mentioned it to a few friends and cried on Brad's shoulder at least a dozen times over it. Of course he only encouraged me to get it.

Brad, if I do find a Roush car I won't be mentioning it until it's home!

Hope to have it there for the Merkur 25th in 2010. Not that far away considering the amount of restoration and sorting to do. Hope to run Watkins Glen again while I'm there. I'll actually start working on that plan shortly.

Merkur GTU car surfaces!

Perhaps you've seen the announcement on our main page or on the IMON e-mail list that info on the car is now posted on my new website http://www.xr4tiracing.com. Since this is the 'photo' forum I'll share one more with you here of XR4Ti and on-track enthusiast and friend Craig Madsen who's assistanc...

I agree. It'd be nice to have a page (or expand our Merkur in Motorsports page) with further info on all past and present Merkur race cars. Heck, the Capri club does it (although theirs perhaps hasn't been updated in a while). http://www.capriclub.com/racers/racers.html Lots more info is available o...

Roush XR4Ti back on track!

I made a trip across country to see this car in 2001. It was undergoing restoration at that time and was only recently completed. This may be the 1988 Daytona 24hr winning car... the V8 car. As far as I know the only Roush 4cyl turbo XR4Ti remaining is the one in the Roush Museum in Livonia (that I ...

Hello John (and all), Well I didn't win any car! I lived in LA between 1978 - 91. I used to go to the Long Beach Grand Prix, the Monterey Historics, and Del Mar. I remember getting right up to the fence at Del Mar, right at the concrete barriers lining both sides of the track, and watching the cars ...

Looks like I started something. I see you guys found the photo archives at http://www.racingsportscars.com . I thought it was Brad that turned me onto it a while back. Great site. Ah ha.. 1988 Daytona 24hr race lists both the 4cyl and V8 XR4Ti's as I'd mentioned earlier. Sure enough it looks like it...

Dear wesvailco, I just took those photos of the XR4Ti at the Roush museum (actually referred to as the collection) in Livonia a few weeks ago. The XR4 is in there with about 200 other cars of significance. I guess they've got something in North Carolina too but I've never been there. Are you saying ...

Hi Jeremy (and everybody), I don't see any firm answer here so far. If somebody knows the story on the 'Ford Motorsport big valve head' please share it. I recall from being around these cars since the early days of '84-85 hearing that a big valve head was available through Ford Motorsport dealers. M...

For those that are new to this type of on-track activity be aware that there may be an initial investment in money and time involved in advance preparation… in addition to the entry fee, food, fuel, lodging expenses, etc. A good helmet is required. The helmet will be inspected as well as certain t...
