Vancouver Mechanic

Been thinking about getting my car towed somewhere so I can finally drive it. Anyone know someone experienced with Merkurs in the lower mainland? The closer to Tsawwassen the better. I also have tools, beer money and free time if there's an amateur willing to help me out. I just really want to embar...

Is it normal with the 3 red wires coming from the harness to be joined and split to two reds? I've replaced the burnt wires, i...

Re: V10 Viper powered Sierra Cosworth

Kool! But instead of a mopar v10, they should have put a Ford 6.8L V10 in it to keep it all ford. I don't believe that would go faster than our cars stock. 305-365hp stock, and they're a 5.4 with two extra cylinders. I had considered it back when I had my P71 in my burnout days http://jalopnik.com/...

Re: Back into Xratties

Decided to do some work on the cars today, charged up the battery and tried to start the red car. The AC WOT cutoff and fuel(?) relays were chattering so i cleaned and dried out the whole fuse box. All 3 brake lights are staying on whenever the battery is connected too... Turning over the motor just...

Re: Back into Xratties

I either have a problem with taking other people's old broken stuff or a serious shopping addiction, because I now have a non-running '89 XR and... A '89 SHO with a hole in the trans. :puke Pics to follow and I got my tools out! Red one is still sitting there rusting away what is left of the floors

Back into Xratties

Spent 2000$ on another XR, and I'm a bit more committed to this one (for now) GAZ coil overs, T-5 with one piece drive shaft going back to a (claimed) escort cosworth LSD. PBR fronts and cossie rear disks too! With a 2wd cosworth intercooler and a shorty rad I shouldn't be having heat issues but tha...

Im in Tsawwassen, about 30 mins south of Vancouver. On a kind of unrelated note, after intercooling, turning up the boost and fabricating my 3" exhaust, will I have issues with engine tuning?

Im liking mikes NPR setup, although it is a little expensive. I dont really want to get a new rad, but i suppose its better if i do. Just a little bit more saving :D. How much would a 2wd Cosworth intercooler run me?

Intercooler setup

Im looking for some advice on an intercooler setup for my '89 XR. I really have no idea what Im doing here, but more power is better, and i have a welder and a hoist for 3" ghetto exhaust system, so Im thinking that an intercooler would be the next step. Im looking for a relatively cheap setup, <$50...

Yep. Slowest wheelies ever in 1st gear low range. I like to think they're rare.
And where i come from, we call them motorcycles

Alright. Thanks for the advice. It still sticks sometimes but the violence fixes. Wondering where i could find info on fixing this issue, or am I better off swapping in a T-5?
