Re: T5 synchronization problems on hard acceleration

Sure did. Bought the parts kit and swapped them all out. I should have done the bearings too but...oh well.

Re: T5 synchronization problems on hard acceleration

Good point about the clutch. I'll adjust it so that may help a bit. This current plate only has 3000-4000 miles on it. : P I had no idea the over slippery transmission fluid might be a bad thing. When I took it apart, I physically saw oiling grooves and brass rings so it needs gear oil for certain. ...

Re: T5 synchronization problems on hard acceleration

Well, being an '83 5.0 box I had to turn down the input shaft. Used a brand new SKF bearing when I put it in too. I hope it didn't somehow work it's way to the end of the crank hole, but I don't think that would happen...right? I know the V8 T5 input shaft is shorter then the 2.3 T5 so it's somethin...

T5 synchronization problems on hard acceleration

G'morning all. It's been over 6 months since I last posted, but I never really left to drop by and read now and again. :cheers Anyway, Since my T5 install last year the car was running great until the last few months. On normal driving, all gears shift as smooth as needed from one to another. When I...

Re: Rims and tire question

Been a while since I did mine. With 215 tires and a 3mm spacer, they go right on. No clearance required.

Older photo from 2 or so years ago.

Re: Oil pressure and octane confusion

Stock timing on both cam and ignition. I'm leaning towards some sort of wear for the issues but I can't be certain.

Re: Oil pressure and octane confusion

I'll admit I haven't done any pressure tests......yet. List of mods is short. For just the engine: 3" turbo to tip w/CA cat (means a 2 1/4 bottleneck both sides), re-plumbed from turbo compressor to throttle body with 2 1/2 in aluminum pipe and a Cosworth 4x4 FMIC over the shorty radiator, LA3 ...

Oil pressure and octane confusion

After digging around the search results, I haven't found much in the way of answers on this. Following a few bolt on changes, I've been "frisky" with the car and noticed it doesn't exceed 50-51 ibs. oil pressure all the way to redline (6000 RPM). Idle sits right around 25 ibs. Two rules of...

Ahh! Zombie thread! http://www.motorcycleforums.net/forum/attachments/suzuki/25297d1309921005-intruder-recall-zombie-thread.jpg For the sake of helping the problem, I have a picture that helps sum up the mustang/thunderbird turbo issue. http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad120/Swagman00/CIMG1481.jpg...

Re: Suspension question

I've said it before, but i'll say it again just for the record: "If you don't have a lot of money and you want a V8, get a mustang." Mixing the corner carving, rally minded performance of an XR4 with one of the best known stoplight drag strip kings is like...well...they don't. Not without ...

Another vote for 764's. Those and cap/rotor for every two year smog check. I resistance check the Motorcraft wires as well. Never failed me yet.

Re: Ranger 4 wd components

Sounds like a custom fabrication conversion worth twice the car to do. 90% of people that buy a Merkur is for budget oriented performance. For the other 10%, I imagine the Sierra Cossie swap is the only viable option worth the time and money to do. It can be done, but is it worth the time and money ...

Re: headlight rewiring

X2

Usually parts supply stores sell headlight polish kits that improve the clarity of the lens. It doesn't last very long, but I'm looking into adding a clear film over it afterwards to lengthen that time.

Re: XR Failed Emissions-- First Time Evar, For Me

Are you running a paper filter? It can lower the amount of air going in compared to a K&N and richen the fuel a little thereby lowering Nox maybe.

I'm out of ideas. :(
