Re: Getting ready for cold weather...

Why do I mention brands and part numbers in these posts? If you need something local you probably can find Gates parts. I would prefer the silicone hoses offered in here, certainly, but maybe you need a part now. So, thanks for reading this and hopefully it offers info you can use. Thank you for po...

Re: 86 XR4Ti

Rather than single out one or two of our club sponsors over the others, I'm just going to point you to a page with all of them. There are links at http://www2.merkurclub.net/pages/resources.html and I can say I'm comfortable with recommending any of them. They've all been around for years and have g...

I'd like to have one, but I hear that parts availability for those makes an XR look like a Camry.

Re: Turbo life...

The original manifold had a 1983 part number, hence the "E3". It was prone to cracking, making the E6 the preferred replacement.

Re: Hotter cams and stock ECU

What I'm really reading here is that the EXP with the HO engine uses the same type of engine management system as the 2.3 Turbo (VAM for air intake measurement, fuel injected, EEC-IV ECU) and has a wiring harness that's either plug and play or close enough that a few pin swaps will make it so. You want to post a link to a video or pictures hosted elsewhere?

Are you asking someone to post a diagram of the rear brake system?

We appreciate you posting what worked for you. Who knows? You might help someone else with the same problem 14 years from now.

Or 14 days. Either way, thanks for adding to the knowledge base.

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping in. I agree about the parts situation, it appears to have gotten better over the last 10-15 years.

Re: 1988 XR4TI $4500

I've edited your post so that the images actually show up and eliminated a couple of duplicates. There aren't any captions so it might not be exactly what you had in mind, but I figured this is still better than making readers extract and view each image URL individually.
