Re: 3D Printing windsheild scuttle

I haven't had to replace my center cowl, yet...

It's those damned side ones that seem to disappear.

Re: 3D Printing windsheild scuttle

They can 3D print big parts like that. I've ordered some prototype parts that are quite large. They're always a number of smaller parts that fit like a puzzle and then are are glued together to make one big part. Anyone willing to pay a couple of grand or more for a windshield scuttle? That's what ...

Re: A4LD... What's out of adjustment?

MilehighXR (Johnny)... was looking at, and thinking about your A4LD for some time. Would love to have it, especially if I knew more about R&R any auto trans. But, its kinda' an allout solution to what might be a simple issue with mine, if that makes sense. You're right, though. I think the shipping...

Re: Rear Reflector Removal & Re-imagineering

Get the Euro 24v tail panel, if you can find one.... I assume it's going to be configured for the Euro size plate, no? It is, it looks really slick especially with the 24v taillights. The one I had with our last 89 Scorpio had a US spec plate on it. I can't remember how the PO had put it on, but it...

Re: A4LD... What's out of adjustment?

Definitely gotta have the right modulator. As far as the VB(valve body) goes, rebuilding that can get tricky. I've been through one or 3 VBs and sometimes they're so stuck, you can't even get them apart even after soaking in carb cleaner for a week. I do have a few VBs on the shelf that were gonna g...

Re: Helloooo! My car wont start.

After you do all of Mikes suggestions buy a battery tender. I have never been able to leave a Scorpio for more than 2 weeks without driving it and still have the battery full of juice.

I have some photos of how it has been replaced, I need to figure out how to post them here now since photo suckit is NFG.
postimage.org, no sign up required even. Downside is that images may need to be resized if they are too big. I have no affiliation, It's just what I have switched to.

Which one? Narrow tunnel 1985-1986 or wide tunnel 1986.5-1989?
Mike,

You what build dates(month and year) identify early vs late? Is there a measurement that one could take to determine which they have?

Re: Spring clunk

Yes, it's almost definitely the upper mount. It could be the bearing failing, preload on it too high, worn rubber allowing it to jump around, or something similar. But the problem is up there. Remove the strut, inspect the mount, see whether something is damaged or worn or if you're lucky it's just...

Re: Spring clunk

I don't have coil overs, and these are new springs, and koni yellow struts. Also this is occurring with the car in the garage while stationary. Though I have heard when pulling out of the driveway. Only happens on the passenger side. Others have suggested the upper rotating bearing as a possible cul...

Spring clunk

I've been poking at the project as time, and bad back allow. And this morning while we were warming up the engine to check a power steering leak fix, I noticed a clunking sound. I've noticed it before, when driving the car(which hasn't been anywhere near as often as I want). This only appeared after...
