I looked at this core, but the hose connections seemed a little too short.
I ended up adapting a Toyota core, as I suspect you recall. Saves at least
a couple hundred dollars if someone's willing to do some cutting and
soldering.

I draped a piece of wiring harness over the bracket for the heater valve-
once- and it melted some wires up under the dash. While my wife was
on the road many miles from home. I had the same reaction- I/we were
lucky it didn't turn into a bonfire.

I built a breakout box for just these moments. Want to borrow it?

I have a raven lower back seat cover for sale.
I also have heated seat switches. I think they're good.

At least eliminate the pot as a potential problem- Caig Deoxit, adjust it back and forth
a few times, clean it your favorite way, etc. I revived more than one tach that way.

Tachs can also be tested outside the car pretty easily- connect the hot and
cold wires from the battery and get the signal from the coil connector (green
wire).

This doesn't calibrate it, but if you have a tach and dwell meter, the tach can
be synched to it by adjusting the pot.

Heated seat switches in the console?

Looks like maybe a dome light switch for the opening just above the dash dimmer adjustment.
