Re: Tall driver in a xr4ti????
Well I was going to reply but my measly little 6 foot @ 210 doesn't seem to come close to the giants that can fit in their XR's.

Re: Stripped spark plug hole
Cheapest option is a tap then. Most parts stores should carry cheap spark plug thread chasers.

Re: Stripped spark plug hole

I would try putting the correct size tap down the hole first though to clean up the threads. Just be sure to...

Lemay Car Museum in Tacoma, WA
Seattle Automotive is one of the parts distributors we use at the shop I work at and every once in a while they throw big parties for all the shops that buy parts through them. Well this year they decided to have a big banquet at the Lemay car museum in Tacoma, WA. Normally my boss would have gone w...

Is it just me or if something runs better with a component unplugged, I typically will throw a known good one at it and see if it improves.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings
No need to press bearings.... they just slip over the axle and sit in the races.... need to have the old races removed and the new ones installed.... *Eats foot...* Haven't had the rear of mine apart yet. Thought it was a sealed bearing. If the issue is getting the races out, a hammer and brass pun...

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings
Most automotive machine shops (if there is one in your area) will probably press the old bearing out and the new bearing in for a heck of a lot cheaper than it would cost you to buy the correct tools you will need.

Re: Autotrans question shifts late or barely when cold
Just ask various shops what equipment they use. The machines I have used/currently use is merely a fluid exchanger that you splice in line between a cooler line and its hookup to the trans cooler. You turn the car on and the oil pump in the transmission is the only source of pressure during the enti...
