Re: It's not supposed to glow like this, is it?

^^ Yeah; from the start here I wondered if the device used to take that photo distorted the actual manifold color. Reds, oranges, after heavy 2.3 turbo use are common. White, is not FWIW. That purple color is related to the sensor of the camera and IR filtering (presumably this is a cellphone). It ...

Wheel Mount for Garage Decoration

I've had the front face of a spatula wheel sitting around in my tool chest for about a decade: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8IMGW2pfS5/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== The front face was from a wheel that had been cracked and I cut the barrel off of it. Since I've got a fancy...

Re: All spiffed up

The car was built Aug 23, 1988, so it has its 35th birthday next Wednesday. I've been dealing with the reality of timelines with respect to the age of these cars these days. I was recently thinking about taking our 20-years-in-service daily driver WRX and putting it to use as a autocrosser/track da...

Re: Not too shabby!!!

I am surprised at the price paid as mine was [$52,600 in 2023 dollars] out the door new. Good point. Interesting car... it's got black cladding inserts, a 150 mph speedo (face could have been swapped) but it still has the earlier cooling system and A-pillar trim that doesn't go into the pocket in t...

I'm definitely curious to find out how the inspection goes. I guess the link I found was the right one?

Re: 1989 Merkur For Sale

Spent a bunch of time trying to use the car gurus search which seems like it proved to be fruitless. Only found this one in North Carolina, which seems to not be you: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?&distance=50000&entitySelectingHe...

Re: LF: Parts vendors in here please.

My favorite quote that I've heard with regard to certain brackets is "Ford is so cheap, that bracket really has to be there for a good reason." I can't shoot holes in that argument. My favorite quote from a forum post has to be the one where the guy said "First thing I do when I get ...

Grayson handles the wheel bearings, but he's a flexible and reasonable guy. Shoot a note to sales@mc2racing.com and the process can begin!

Re: Low Coolant Temp while Cruising?

It's very common for the thermostats to leak. This is one place where the Motorcraft part really does seem to do a better job than the after-market thermostats. The description of the problem says the thermostat is unable to regulate the temperature. This must be happening because it's not working ...

Consider replacing your thermostat with a Ford/Motorcraft unit. This post will document why it make work for you:

In addition to Joe's excellent link, there are always results posted for autocrosses that the mc²racing team drivers compete in on the mc2racing Results page:

Bah. Even the shell is a good starting point given the permanent work done to it. I'll wait until you get the flares done though. Thanks.

Is there a claimer rule on that? I might be willing to exercise the claimer rule if there is.

Ben, I've got a brand new Monroe front strut taking up space. How's $25 shipped sound? Email me at anglin@mc2racing.com.
