Re: Wheel locks on my 89 xr4ti

If you need locks I have a couple sets as well as the air box lid. I don’t think I have extra keys though. You can contact the vendors already mentioned for the key.
If you need the other items contact me via email jkxr4ti at yahoo

Re: Merkur front hubs with Volkswagen struts

Good to have this as an option especially since you can get the VW struts in coil over options already. At the moment I’m trying to decide on this route or converted bilsteins for the new XR.

Re: Racing head gasket and studs

Just be sure to chase the threads in the block/clean out the holes, and make sure the studs are going in far enough before you put the head on.

Re: Racing head gasket and studs

There’s 2 types available, standard and undercut versions. The undercut versions have a higher clamp load. Look at the 2.3 pinto options and not duratec or eco boost. https://arp-bolts.mobi/p/makeengine.php?_Make=402&_EngModelID=515 These are the undercut versions, a few bucks more but if your alrea...

Definitely retorque as mentioned. This is a key to longevity at that boost level.

Re: Racing head gasket and studs

Unless your block and head are surface finished properly the 8993 felpro is your best option. Pair that with some arp studs and you should be good to go. Mine was about the same power and boost. That combo worked very well for me.

Re: looking for 1987 xr4ir-Sony demo car

I believe Mario owned this car for a while. I know it has come up in carlisle conversations before. He may have a lead for you on who he sold it to. I sent him a message and let him know your looking.

Re: Saginaw Power Steering Pump Conversion

So the Astro pump is key here because it uses a straight snout vs the majority of the Saginaw pumps that have the tapered version. Were there other Saginaw pumps with a attached reservoir and a straight snout? That and the horseshoe adapter bracket really make this a bolt on affair aside for the cle...

Re: Question installing AEM wide band 30-4110...

If the wideband has a simulated narrowband output this can be fed to the factory ecu. The main issue with the wideband too close to the turbo is longevity. They recommend 18” down stream of the turbo to make it last. I have mine 1/2 way through the downpipe. I’ve replaced a couple sensors in the 10 ...

Re: SHOW ME YOUR FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE!!!

This kit from Jegs works great on our fuel rail. It spaces the gauge high enough to clear the rail. Using the side position points it toward the fender for easy viewing. Been using one of these on my car for quite a few years. If you prefer not to have the brass finish you can always paint it. https...

Re: Fuel Injector upgrade

I would suggest you look into the newer Siemens/deka high impedance injectors. These are fast opening and will work great with the MS. They draw much less current and produce less electrical noise than the low impedance injectors. I switched to these after maxing out the stock 35lb then low impedanc...
