Re: Post Carlisle 2024 Survey - Please read and reply!
Here is my input: 1. Did you attend Carlisle this year? Do you plan to attend in 2025? yes 2. Overall, using your own criteria, how did you feel this year's Carlisle event compared to previous years? a)better than usual b)about the same c)worse than usual If answering a or c, why? A - Better than us...

Re: Thingaverse / Printables Downloads for 3D Printing Plastic Parts
Good thread Brad. Who was it at Carlisle that had that interior light lens 3D printed? It looked high uality to me but I don’t know if here’s willing to link the file here.

The last XR?
Several years ago Bill Bailey and I started discussing cars produced in the last month of production - December 1988 - and it seemed that there were/are a lot of Radiant Red (Paint code OP) XRs produced in December 1988. My car is #617567 produced December 5th and Bill Bailey's car is #617850 produc...

How many Merkurs are on the road today?
I have another thread going on trying to determine how many XR4 were produced. This is the other side. How many are on the roads, taxed, insured and driveable today? I am going to go out on a limb and make an educated guess of 900 XR4 and maybe 100 Scorpio. You can argue with that number and I'd lik...

Merkur Production Quantities
At Carlisle this year the age old discussion of how many XRs were produced came up again. I thought it a good idea to put all the numbers in one place and get to the bottom of the numbers and where the cars are now. Central to this is the Merkur Registry which has gone through several iterations but...

Re: Flex Joint options... <aka Guibo, Giubo>
Just for reference, the 'Flex Coupling' I have had on my XR since 1997 is a Beck Arnley 103-2103 and cost me $75 in March 1997. I know this thread is talking about Scorpios but I believe I fitted the same part to my son's Scorpio. Mine has lasted those 27 years and the car has been driven hard. I wi...

Re: Scorpio Game Show - Name That Failure
I searched a bit and can't find a way to bench test these coils. The failed one had identical resistance to the good one. When I have had coils fail in the past (admittedly on other non Merkurs), they test OK with a regular meter but it's the insulation that breaks down. The spark happens, but it's...

The graphic is based on Building G at Carlisle where we were at Carlisle 2010. This is now the home of Desperate Times Brewing.
