Yes, motor mounts can, will, and do sag over time. On many Merkurs you will notice that the sagging motor mounts will actually cause the front of the pan to rub the steering rack, which can wear a hole right through the body of the rack over a period of time.

The Rapido is a good core, MP is a great core, but as an entire setup they both leave something to be desired. The problem with the Rapido setup is that the piping is so small, and the BPV/BOV port is only 3/4". Length of pipe in an intercooling system has been shown to have negligible effect o...

The 2.3 T5s are rated for like 235 lb/ft or something like that, but I have put CONSIDERABLY more power through them and driven the piss out of them with no problems. The gearing for the V8 T5s is fine. I wouldn't run a 3.36 rear with a 4 cylinder, but 3.64 rear should be fine. Nice tall OD for crui...

All Ford T5s got the same length input shaft (although the V8s have a larger pilot), except for '94+ and newer. '94 and '95 was the only years for the long input T5 behind a V8, but the V6s continued to get the long input T5 for a number of years. FWIW, the long input shaft is about .5" longer ...

Ooh, Starett... that is a nice set of Calipers!

I would just use locktite. When I built my T3/T4 it was the same way... no biggy.

Yes, in fact you can remove the restrictor from the boost gauge that wakes them up a lot... they're still a stock gauge, but they're a bit more accurate.

I never have figured out the reason for the restrictor. :?

Less boost (10psi max, rather than 15psi), different computer programming (IIRC auto ECU actually has more timing advance), taller gearing in the rear end (3.36 auto, 3.64 manual).

If you want the best of the best, bolt on a Cossie turbine housing and fab a down pipe for it.

Has nothing to do with rust. My car is an Arizona car, 1st of all. Second, you can see that the parts that came out of my car (the post of mine that Brad quoted above) are all in good condition. Basically I don't think this should ever be a problem as long as the beam mounting bolt stays tight, and ...

In the Vette? I posted a pic of it earlier in the thread. If you think about it, it's no longer of a shaft than you would have if it had its tranny in the normal spot. You have a distance to span, regardless of what order they're in:

I see..... Makes sense now. :)

I agree with Chris. The weakest T56 you can get (from the '93 Camaro/Firebird) still has a much higher torque rating than the strongest factory T5. On a side note, the Corvette T56 is NOT the one that I would use, and I'm sure that Tim didn't either. It is rear mounted, with a different case that ma...

the set screw kind only work for about 2 days. you need one that screws on. usually the screw on type come with different size adapters Ditto that, although I'm sure that a bit of thread locker would work, as Mike suggested. After doing my T5 swap I used one of those that my brother in-law let me b...
