Re: Name that EEC

It looks a LB series judging from the part number(LB being the auto version of the LA).

Not recently(unless you count a new coolant bottle from a Mercedes Kompressor coupe). I have been too busy with work....60+ hours a week for the last two months hasnt left me much time.

Re: Gun grabbers make home visits

Open carry IS legal everwhere in the US. ANY restriction on gun ownership is in fact illegal. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed. Infringment by local or state laws(IE chicago) is illegal. For that matter so is denying a firearm to a former felon(yes, that too is an infringment). I can se...

Re: anyone know where the ECU ground is in a XR4Ti?

Well....no problems since I fixed the one ground....will check the other one in the footwell though. The only electrical issue that has come back since all this is the data center lights flashing and going crazy again....last time it was a corroded negative battery terminal....but that is new since ...

Re: anyone know where the ECU ground is in a XR4Ti?

So far so good...but I have yet to drive it any significant distance....the 100 mile round trip to work and back tomorrow will be the real test. Another odd part of the problem....rain makes it worse for some reason. Anyone know what temp the ECU usually is to the touch? Now it is just moderatley wa...

Re: anyone know where the ECU ground is in a XR4Ti?

Thanks...it looks like the previous owner had cut it and run it to the negative terminal with the other half of the wire still connected to the battery tray...which was also connected to the negative terminal....a decent solution for jury rigging. I couldnt clean the female part of the connector blo...

anyone know where the ECU ground is in a XR4Ti?

Fighting a new problem in my car...acts a lot like a TFI issue...car shuts off while driving and wont restart until its cooled down. I replaced the TFI...and even the distributor and it still does it. The ECU is physically hot to the touch when this happens...leading me to beleive the ignition drive...

Re: Another electrical gremlin.

One other question...where can I get a new one? All places like autozone show is a universal flasher....will that work or do I need XR specific?

Re: Taurus sho 3.0l swap

I happen to have completed the conversion to RWD to swap into my 66 mustang...but I never got as far as installing....my RWD converted SHO engine and T5 trans was stolen if you can believe it. Anyway, I can answer some questions you have about it.

Re: Walbro installed, now fuel gauge doesn't work.

What? You mean that your fuel gauge worked to begin with? Mine doesnt work on my daily...about 99.9999999% of the time and when I took out the tank on my project car I found out why...the sender is VERY prone to seizing up, the only time I have ever gotten the thing working on my daily driver is whe...

Re: Another electrical gremlin.

Took the stalk/switch apart and verified it was all working correctly(the only thing wrong with it is the red plastic cap for the hazard is broken off). So I guess the flasher is the next stop? Where is it located on a XR?

Re: Another electrical gremlin.

The stalk being bad doesnt make sense though since its intermittent and random, I can never tell if its going to work or for how long. I would think if it were the stalk it would be consistently inoperable, but I will take a look at it. By contacts I meant tailight contacts...the stupid little pince...

Re: ok still having probs

The forge unit is supposed to prevent that...but to test simply remove the BOV plug the BOV port and drive around(preferrably without much boost) and see if it still happens.

Another electrical gremlin.

This one is odd....sometimes my blinkers work fine and sometimes they dont work at all. All bulbs and contacts in the connectors are good. Is this a flasher issue maybe? Any ideas?
