Awful vibration (trying to make carlisle)
Hey guys, I'm trying to make my first carlisle this year and i have a problem with my xr that I just cant get. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Car had been off the road for 5ish years, and before its transformation it was silky smooth on the highway, but now feels like Im driving over some ...

Re: crank shafts pulley removal and carbon canister
. thhanks everyone i guess ill have to hook everything back up to get it to break loose lol and has any of you guys left the carbon cannister off ? Yes, with no ill effects. Left the line in place. If an interference issue is your reason for removal (intercooler piping?), and you would feel better k...

Re: Help with trouble codes
Cool, that's what I was thinking. The car is running a little crappy and really really rich. It does OK when it's cold, but once it warms up it misses on idle, the warmer it gets the worse it is (can get pretty bad). It misses a little when you really get on it too but still pulls pretty good. Prett...

Help with trouble codes
Hey all, Just ran a koeo and koer quick test on my LA2 swapped xr and have a couple questions. First, where the heck is the IRCM (integrated relay control module)? I have never even heard of this part before today and I thought I knew the car pretty well. Is this maybe a part the t-bird has that the...

Re: sticking throw out bearing
Yes, input shaft is turned down. The issue is in the clutch though, throw out bearing is seizing on the front bearing retainer causing a loss of pedal action.
Meant to ask "is input shaft *retainer* the same diameter". I found that it is though.

sticking throw out bearing
Anyone ever have an issue where a brand new throw out bearing starts sticking as it warms up, eventually to the point it freezes? Works fine when cold though. Its a v8 t5 with a direct pull bellhousing and a new spec clutch/tob. I thought the input shaft diameter was the same between the v8 and the ...

wont turn over
Ok guys ill try and keep this short, and spit balling is welcome. Car no longer starts with the key, remote wire on the solonoid isn't getting power for some reason. I traced power through the ignition switch and through the neutral safety switch. It appears power is lost between the blk/red wire fr...

Re: Shorty Rad/NPR IC Cooling
^^x2. That rad well outperforms the stock one, my fan almost never comes on since the swap. The bubble creates a blockage at idle that gets forced through at crusing rpm

Re: XR rocker replace
I'm hoping that the beam was not touched too much. I know at least my driver floor is a bit rotted at the seam, but I dont think I need to worry about it right away. It seems like it can be fixed even if the car has new rockers. Its just hard to find a shop to do that kind of work properly around h...

Re: XR rocker replace
So my scope of work included cutting a zillion spot welds (blare makes the best spot weld cutter I found with replaceable blades... very useful), wire wheeling everything that had rust on it, fabbing new sheet metal for the spots that had rotted away and painting everything else with por 15, some mo...

Re: XR rocker replace
http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/p571/SirMerkAlot/Picture016.jpg If you decide to do it, this is the line I took while cutting out. You need to pick a line where you will be able to hide your welds. Cutting in the middle of a smooth section would be pretty impossible to do so, so I cut along one...
