13 years later... your wish has been granted Nice update Mike! Shouldn't you add, "Perform this operation only on a stone-cold engine". Or perhaps better yet... Re: Merkur goodies for Christmas?

I'm owed a Christmas gift, new leather for my XR's driver's seat, but I haven't been able to get Russ to call me back. Anyone know if his health is OK?

Re: Apparently Im stupid.

Sooner or later XR guys end up adding a Scorpio to the stable. Totally normal (to us, at least). Yep. After three XRs, I got a Scorpio. It actually has been on the road a few times as well. Reminds me, I need to get in touch with Bob and get my free year. I just got it licensed, before it was borro...

THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE PICS!
Agreed....How did you find out about the date of production?
The production date is stamped on the driver's side strut tower in yellow.

Re: Did you like the Wheeler Dealers XR episode?

After the Capri II episodee I tend to be skeptical on both the sale and the price. Still entertaining to watch though. I even like Ant as much as I liked Edd.

You'll never truly know if they make a profit on it. They often haven't even sold them by the time they "sell" it.

Re: New Here- Planning on buying an XR4Ti soon!

What Mike said is true, but there are parts that are hard to or impossible to find at this point. But I had one new in 86 and getting parts for them even then was hard. After Ford abandoned the brand it became far more difficult, but now with the internet and vendors reproducing parts, it is easier.

Re: '87 XR4Ti for sale in Texas

Yes Sir David......!!!!!! Thanks for the note back. Looks like, from your garage inventory, you'd have some interesting stories about how and who you acquired those treasures from! Well, the mini-van was pretty impressive. I'm sure we'd all love to hear whatever insight you could provide to the Mer...

The white Merkur is not Jack's. For photos go to MagentaRed's post in 2010 Carlisle archives.

"Capri"? Did you catch a typo? Jack didn't tell me about a Capri. What do you know about Jack & Capri?
The white car in the memorabilia picture. I assume it wasn't his.
