all of the above.
speedi sleeve
oem rear main seal
light rtv on the oil pan gasket, especially the corners.
What really seemed to fix it was a catch can. I wish i would of done that way sooner, way sooner, like first mod soon.
Obviously the oem pcv valve cant move enough air.

Re: replace oil pan gasket in car?
ya the subframe has to be dropped enough to slide out the oil pan. if you dont want to fully remove the pan, you can just lower it enough to put a new seal around, you'll still need to drop it a few inches. You'll need to support the engine from above, probably disconnect the shocks, brake lines, sw...

AVO Coilovers, FG Whaletail spoiler, spacers to Carlisle
Hey guys, im coming down from Montreal to carlisle this year. I have a fiberglass spoiler in rough condition, it got broke in transport, patched, cracked again. If anyone at Carlisle wants it, I wouldnt mind bringing it down. Would be good for someone who can fix it back up. Has the studs sticking o...

Re: Unobtainium Rapido
Ive got the 28.5 front 19mm rear. I never had the 16mm to compare it to.
But ya I think its pretty awesome. I got into these cars just before everything became NLA.
hmm if only I had bought 1 of those MC2 Racing fuel pump kits haha.. I thought they would never disappear.

Re: Cars/bikes that hindsight tells us we should have kept!
My first car.. a 1984 Mercury Cougar v6 auto. i liked it,it was horribly slow (lost in a race to a SX2.0) but it was cool and it had character. I was young and when the head gasket blew, I thought that it would be impossibly expensive to fix, and I couldnt do it myself back then. I sold it to a guy ...

If my engine ever goes, Im gonna seriously consider this swap. Great work, please keep updating, and if every you decide to fabricate those engine mounts, you might have a few buyers here.

Re: Coronavirus project thread
I'll fire up this thread with tons of non-Merkur content and a tad bit of Merkur content (best for last) I've been working on my beater, its a 2002 V70 N/A with a manual tranny. I had a CEL for a "large emissions leak" I did a visual inspection and found a hose at the charcoal canister wit...

wow I wasnt aware that there was a seal there. I think mine went back on bare.
I cant see why some form a gasket wouldnt work there.

Re: PCV tube blocked?
I found the PCV hoses had hardened and didn't seal well, which reduced PCV effectiveness. Replacing the hoses did help. My current battle is the VC breather, which sucks. I cannot get a good seal on the grommet in the head, and I don't know why. It's been that way for 15 years, first with the origi...

I love what you did, I need to eventually put a modern engine in mine, Im getting fed up with the trouble. Couple questions: Hows the hood clearance? Could the engine of moved up a bit higher to clear better the suspension? Could the engine of moved forward more to allow more firewall clearance? Is ...
