Re: Speaker wire colors.

One side is ground, just check each side for continuity to ground with a DMM.

Re: Oil pan removal.

Here is the timing chain replacement procedure that encompasses the removal of the oil pan. This is for the later post 1990 Euro 2.9L Scorpios but I think it is much the same. There are some good step by step visuals as well as the cross bar I mentioned. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/engines/1...

Re: Oil pan removal.

I thought the procedure was to use one of those cross bars across the engine bay to lift the engine.

Re: Replacement Head Options

They look like a good price for a pair assembled. Should use torque to yield.

Re: IAC Issues, Scorp and XR, Maybe the "EEC-IV CHIEF" Knows How To Resolve?

From your link he states... "turned off engine and restarted and everything is back to normal... until driven for a few minutes then idle goes up on its own again." From recent experience I can proclaim that this behavior is most definitely the EEC-IV going into "limp home mode" as a result of an el...

Re: IAC Issues, Scorp and XR, Maybe the "EEC-IV CHIEF" Knows How To Resolve?

Sorry for chiming in late...just saw this. I usually am only watching the Scorpio forum... This high idle condition you speak of sounds like the ECC-IV going into limp mode. The only time I have run into this is when my A/C diode failed. The A/C clutch EMF would glitch the ECC-IV and it would go int...

The newly made ITM heads appear to have square pedestals.
Like the ones shown above, on the right? Or an entirely different casting?
The ITMs are newly made. Probably their own improved design.
You can see a picture of them on ebay or on ITM's website...

Re: 11" Brake Rotor

The piston area is 10% less. Not sure Scorpio ABS will like that, even with the larger rotor. But it might be OK. If Scorpio brake stuff was unobtainium then I might consider this. But it is all still readily available. I bought a couple sets of Brembos from RockAuto a while back for $8 each. So it ...

Re: 11" Brake Rotor

I'm all for cheap and plentiful alternatives. I understand the rotor re-drill part, but what does it take to mount the Focus calipers?
Do the mounting holes line up?

Re: 11" Brake Rotor

Maybe it is just me but... Is the stock braking performance of the Scorpio so bad that such an upgrade is warranted? I don't know about you, but I don't find that the performance of the Scorpio gets me into trouble with regards to braking. How about throwing on a set of EBC Greenstuff, some slotted ...

Re: EATC acting up...

My glass is Ok. I don't drive on regularly on any highways, So I should be fine. I'll cross that bridge if and when i come to it. BTW, I took the antenna module apart, there were two electrolytic caps. I replaced both of them but the old ones were not too bad according to my tester. Guess the next l...

Re: EATC acting up...

Oh yes, let us not forget the blower control module. I don't think the vent motors have any caps. They are just a motor with a position feedback variable resistor. I'm not looking forward going through all of these modules. I think I might just do the low hanging fruit first. Stuff that is easy to g...
