Re: Supra Diff replacement part #s

Thanks... now to figure out how to get it mounted. Same... I have CAD files for a weld-in solution from a friends rally car since JVAB is looking to have something like ~30 people to be ready with cash for another run. Obviously don't take the plans and sell it as a kit (or at least talk to the guy...

thanks
They are getting hard to find, I had a heck of a time trying to get mine... but I think Jeff (Blugg) over at Merkur Parts Midwest is back in stock of the later (88/89) MC.

Re: Proper Brake feel (and wheel questions)

Every new in box MC I've seen says to bench bleed it before installing. Power bleeding doesn't eliminate all air in the MC unit. YMMV Well, yes, I also powerbled the MC before I installed it. I forgot to mention it. Bench bleeding is a slightly different operation than a regular bleed. The lines ne...

Re: Anyone DD theirs?

The only grounds I've added have been taillight matrices-to-body ground-- they pop up as an issue in lots of these cars. I would do it to any XR I own. The rest were matters of repair and maintenance, at least for me. Did you just run a ground from the body directly to the matrix? One for each side...

Re: Show me your Belt Routing with a Passenger Side Alternator

I converted to a single serpentine with tensioner/ps bracket and pullies from a fox mustang. The mustang tensioner is garbage; you use the bolt holding the tensioner as your release lever point, push too hard trying to relieve tension and it'll strip the threads. Had to use washers to space the alt...

Re: First Xr4ti

Have not had access to a compression tool yet, definitely my plan for this weekend. After running sea foam and an atf flush it’s cleared up a lot of the smoke. Valve cover does leak but not bad enough to raise suspicion. But I am one bulb away from my cluster bulbs working again though  Keep ...

Re: Odd paint color

If the door sticker is still there, you should be able to check what the original paint code was (likely though that it was resprayed at some point)

Seems like the only original black is a regular black.

You guys are more helpful than you know, as I make a list of things to check on my newly acquired '89. 8) Welcome! Glad it up and wants to move! I worked about a year and a bit before mine even ran. (also an '89) Hopefully your Master cylinder doesn't go out, those are turning into unobtainium... R...

Show me your Belt Routing with a Passenger Side Alternator

Looking to see what folks have used for belt routing when they moved to a 90 deg intake. I'm not a fan of the single wrap around all of the components with the passenger alternator, as it leaves both the water pump and the crank (arguable the most important pulleys) with LESS than a quarter wrap. If...

Re: 3D Printing windsheild scuttle

Rapido has replacement parts already available, not sure if they are 3D printed or not though. I believe the ones that Rapido sells and the ones that the guy in Argentina has for sale are both Fiberglass. IMO a 3D printed part in this location would be more prone to breaking than the original piece.

Nice! That's what a few folks have done, seems to work pretty well.

Did you use any sort of Power Steering cooler? (selfishly asking as I prep my own car)
No, we actually removed the power steering altogether and looped the lines on the rack.
