Get the Euro 24v tail panel, if you can find one....
I assume it's going to be configured for the Euro size plate, no?

Ten Day Count-down!

With just ten (10!) days to go until Merkurs at Carlisle 2018, the goodies are arriving daily to be given away at the big event. All of our sponsors are returning and providing some of the most awesome give-aways we've had in years. Boxes have been arriving this week from Rapido, Merkur Mid-West, St...

Re: Power Steering Fluid vs Dex/Merc vs Type F

This is what I plan to do....

I have already done the Saginaw pump swap on my F-150. I run Valvoline PS fluid with that setup and it works fine.

Re: Radisson Hotel Reservation Info

Tommy/Mark- Were you guys able to figure things out? The Radisson does still have a limited number of rooms, but doubles for Friday night is the thing they are sold out of. Worse case, if there's two of you that want to split a room (but not a bed!), they may be able to roll a cot in.

Swapping in later EATC with "Off" switch

I've read that not only did the later cars get a EATC with an "off" switch, but there was actually a recall for this. I'm pretty sure I won't gt covered by the recall, but what's involved to swap in the later unit. Is it just a plug-n-play swap???

Re: Scorpio Change Delineation Thread

I'm waking this thread back up with an observation I just had yesterday while ransacking a '89... The long seal that runs wheel-well to wheel-well below the doors... On the later cars this seal is metal reinforced and uses different clips than the earlier cars. The later seal seems like an improveme...

Rear Reflector Removal & Re-imagineering

We're thinking of going with more of a Euro look on the back and so ditching most of the big center reflector/license plate holder. Current thinking is to chop off both ends of the factory piece and still use the center portion to hold/light the license plate. Then either fill in the holes in the ha...

Unfortunately, I believe these are being sold (the molds). There was a post on Facebook about it.
Last I heard, the molds were not going to be sold, but rather put away in storage for a length of time.

Re: Accidentally shortened Steering Shaft

I really want to do the scorpio steering column swap on mine, along with this bearing. Had I known about the bearing at the time, I certainly would have done it while the car was gutted (which clearly was the time to do the Scorpio steering column swap). But it's not that tough to do just the beari...

Re: Accidentally shortened Steering Shaft

Got it all back together last night, only to find that the battery was dead. Not sure if it's dead-dead or just in need of re-charge. Left it on the charger overnight.

Excellent-- made your own slide hammer, I see. 8)
Sorta, kinda. At first it was the vise-grip that was only sliding as I wacked it with the hammer. Then I bit down a little harder with it and gave it another go. This time the shaft moved. Yea!!!

Re: Accidentally shortened Steering Shaft

Fixed! There's a teflon (?) liner which pulls out with the shaft a bit, about a 1/2" past the end of the outer sleeve. I'm not sure if that was pulled out like that before, but it's fine. SteeringBearing-5.JPG SteeringBearing-4.JPG For anyone who's interested, here's the 2-part bushing which is repl...
