Well, I'm still new to the Merkur seen (less than a year) and the previous owner was a mechanic, so I feel lucky. Even so, I can offer these comments. Will the Merkur be primary transportation? If so, is public transportation available where you live? This is a very important. A car of this age and ...

Police are notified. But, will not come out. I'll have to file an accident report. I have not moved the care and have taken plenty of photos. A manager from the company left me a message at my house. Now, I am playing phone tag with him. A neighbor is a police officer from a town nearby. I'm going t...

Unhappy Merk Owner

Man, the Merk was damaged today. I was getting a couple of mattresses delivered and the truck arrived. I went out to meet the truck and the driver had his head on the steering wheel and said, “It is just a bad day.â€

Checked the grounds, clean the contacts, check the battery. Solenoid only $10. Sounds like that is the next step. I hope I can get it at Autozone.

Runs to Autozone website to check.

Looks like they do. Now, I just hope the store I go to has it in stock. I'll have to give them a buzz.

Its not the battery. I've tested it.

However, I did try to jump the car/battery. When I tried to start the car, the starter chattered. But, did not catch.

Again, when you attempt to start the car, all the power dies and does not come back up for a minute or two.

I have a similar problem, but a little different. Symptoms: -Turn the key to the first position. All the idiot lights and stuff light up. -Turn the key to the second position. All the idiot lights, clock and radio power off. There is a single click noise, like the starter trying to turn. -Release th...

I'm investigating just changing all my hoses to silicon, since it looks like I should just replace them now and get it over with.

My question is, during my search for silicon, I saw one site that sold ties as a way to clamp down hose. Now, I don't think I would ever do that, but is it valid?

First "Major" Repair/Question on Hoses

I've gone seven months without any repair issues. Well, the first struck last night. I pull into the driveway and I let the car idle for a minute or so. The, I see smoke creeping out from under the hood. Dang! My first thought is a blocked cat causing the manifold overheat and light something under ...
