Re: Merkur front hubs with Volkswagen struts

A couple of data-points to add to this conversation.... The Mk4 Golf R32 and Mk1 Audi TT use the same front strut which is nearly the same as the "standard" VW Mk4 strut. The only difference is the provision for a stabilizer bar of some sort - you can clearly see it in this pic... https://c1552172....

Re: Manual trans into auto xr

I've been following your project, did a similar one last year but was a t-9 to T-5, still trying to sort out a noise on decel! Have had some issues with the clutch linkage "dogbone" When you can i would appreciate it if you could post some completed pics of the install including the clutch linkage....

Re: WTB C3 Trans

I have also considered this swap numerous times, it is a great idea. Except I don't have an auto. I have a parts Scorpio and have been gathering stuff to do this at some point. My dad wants to put together an auto car, and he has good experience building this sort of thing. Will it actually happen, ...

Re: Svo Exhaust

I'd say it would have to be almost free, if not paying you to take it.
Maybe the 3" straight portions could be used to cobble together, but then, is it even worth messing with the old stuff?

Re: Looking for advice for top end build and where to spend my money

No need to remove the head to replace the cam... It's done easily in an afternoon. But, to be clear, the Ranger cam is no performance upgrade. It's about the same lift and same duration as the stock cam. The only thing it wins you is the roller follower, which *might* free up a hp or two and open u...

Re: Looking for advice for top end build and where to spend my money

If it's all apart, I would go with the Ranger cam and rockers. It's easy and can be had for about $100 for the set. Although I've never done it either, I want to, and have all the stuff. Just never took a head off and want to keep driving the car. I'm trying to figure a way to do the cam without rem...
