Oh yeah, much better than removing the dash! Now the heater core is another story, it has to be removed from inside and it is definately a PITA!

Remove the false firewall, disconnect the a/c where it enters the blower box. I'm almost positive I had to disconnect my egr pipe from the valve to get the box out. I think there is only 4 bolts holding the box in.

If I'm not mistaken they are spot welded, I can't recall for sure though. Someone who is sure will chime in soon i'm sure.

I know several guys who run goodyear t belts on their 2300 mod 4 dirt cars. They run almost continously at 8500-9k rpm and I can't speak for all of them, but the team I work for has had no problems with them and that's 3 cars. I cant help much on the others, but the heater core will only come out from the inside. you must remove the dash, at least most of it anyway. I did my first heater core with no manual, but it wasnt fun. If you arent depending on having the car to drive all the time, just take your time. The only way...

For the future, buy one of those nifty little TFI wrenches from NAPA or wherever, then keep it in your glove box along with a spare module and a little tube of dielectic grease. I would definately invest in an a/f gauge if you don't have one. If I see mine get anywhere near lean at wot I get worried. You probably experienced the knock sensor pulling timing, happened to me on the dyno @ 20#s
