Re: Transmission Vibration Database FAQ

I recall when I had a stock diff and I was checking angles, I always wanted less angle out of the differential but had no means to adjust. Correct, and someone (Grayson?) posted that you never move the stock rear from it's position because of all the suspension hooked to it. Now I need the length's...

Re: Transmission Vibration Database FAQ

So starting from the beginning; Compare the OE setup vs the T-5 with a one piece driveshaft. Factory has the correct three degree down angle on the diff angle and the engine has the same. No Vibes and a Guibo to help absorb and quiet it a little. Now if you put in a T-5 it is longer so the front ang...

Re: Photobucket 3rd party???

From the news: Corpus said Photobucket started notifying users in early June but admitted many emails bounced or were never opened. Discussions to address customer outrage are ongoing. What’s important, he said, is a customer’s entire photo collection is still available. They must log in and if they...

Re: Duracool refrigerant

Just wanted to update everyone after using the A/C with Duracool every day for a week, it still works great. Glad I found it. And it doesn't kill the engine when I come to a stop and have to idle.

Re: Photobucket 3rd party???

Very interesting, I now see that each post that had links to Photobucket have been changed to the new warning logo click on button. However on my posts, since I used tiny url it didn't catch it and my posts don't have that Photobucket warning button,HAHA, lazy programmers strike again. Let's see wha...

Re: dropping a cylinder

First, with engine running disconnect the idle control connector and see if the idle changes. if it does then remove the BOV and see what happens. The more likely problem is weak valve springs. The lifters get pumped up and hold the valves open due to the weak springs, sometimes you can get lucky an...

Re: Duracool refrigerant

Every piece of info that I found says that Duracool leaks less than R-12 and no hose change is necessary. However if your R-12 hoses are 30 years old, they need replacing anyway.

Re: Duracool refrigerant

more info, where to buy, is a direct drop in for R134a, or R12? The limited info is just a tease Bought online at Amazon for 19 per can, need two cans. Yes, it's a direct drop in no matter what oil you are currently running. The Duracool website has all the other technical info. Yes AC is absolutel...

Duracool refrigerant

I converted a week ago from R-134 and it works better. It's more expensive but it cools better at lower RPM/idling. Higher auto-ignite temp than R-134. I like the fact that the pressures are much lower in the compressor.

Re: Alternate Heater Control Valve

I got one of these valves. It is all metal, works correctly with the stock vacuum hose. It is all metal and the ball type valve inside it looks to be delrin or nylon, so it will hold up to the heat under the hood fine. Great find. Finding a way to hold it and to route the hoses won't take much work,...

Very nice 1988 5-speed Near Carlisle

This car is in excellent shape. Paint is excellent, Rockers are not rusted out. I would buy it if I could. The mechanic that works on it was a Ford Merkur trained mechanic. Disclaimer:The owner is a client of mine and I am passing it on as a favor. You could drive it home from Carlisle. http://pitts...

Interesting, the welds look like they knew what they were doing. I have never seen that exact setup, but I have seen other people use the T-bird intercooler like that with a jacket added. Good luck.

Re: Rear Disc swap, poor pad contact on rotor

i'll add my data points. I have been struggling with the same thing on my front Big brake swap. I have flex lines as outlined on Ed Keys page. I keep getting poor contact also. Sometimes it's the right inner, sometimes it's the left inner. I have replaced multiple rotors and pads, lubed everything, ...

Re: Transmission Vibration Database FAQ

So it's looking for a straight line but it appears that the diff is offset from the trans. I am assuming that would give some movement to the U-joints even though every one I ever saw was hard in one spot as though it had never moved from one position. This would be the same for a one piece DS.
