Possible 2.3T into Scorpio project

Ok, so someone talk me out of this... Here is my situation. I have a Scorpio with an aging 2.9. Rear arches are rusty. Otherwise, body is sound. Have 2 XRs. One was my driver. One (the spare with no engine) shell better than the other, but the harness is hacked. My plan was to move the driveline and...

Can you feel the rattle, or is it just audible? High pitch or low pitch sound? Does the intensity change if you're rounding a bend one direction or the other?

You could pull the turbo inlet hose and take a look in there to see if the impeller is contacting the housing.

Was this a re-pinned computer, or did you just swap pins in the harness? Just checking to make sure you're following the right procedure for the right computer. I re-pinned my harness, which was all that was available when I did mine.

I'm sure I just need more practice, AND a better welder. I like the ones that Eastwood is selling.

Having owned a '89 Scorpio, I would like to suggest a mod. One that I saw at Carlisle several years ago that made a lot of sense. A member who happened to be a LM Service writer had modified the electrical system of his pristine Scorpio to improve the connections and overall reliability and I'm sur...

Gonna redo most of it after the engine/trans are back in the car.

Thanks guys. My only other major concern was the fact that when I drove it, I got on it to make sure it was pulling strong, and it certainly did. It does have an aftermarket turbo and front mount on it. Car pulled really strong. But it did pop the oil breather straight outa the valve cover. My old ...

Re: Need Merkur Advice

So I went and looked at this Merkur today. Had a few more issues than had been described by the owner. Needed lots of work on the interior, some bumper fitment issues, etc. But my main question is this. I drove the car today and it pulled hard, really well for a mostly stock engine. But he warned m...

So you're saying that if disconnected, I could get better performance because the computer won't be unnecessarily retarding timing?

Re: Multiple issues

1, Oil pressure light goes out after initial start-up, however after maybe 60 seconds, it flickers constantly no matter engine speed. i have driven the vehicle for more than 100 miles now like this and am going to simply assume the connection to the sender is loose because the engine is operating n...

Re: Group buy on a 32mm hollow sway bar

I have someone that would make hollow sway bars for the XR4ti that would add about an extra 1.5 degree of caster, so move your tires forward 3/4 of an in. The bar would effectively be a 32mm bar with a wall tickness of 1.102 so that it would act like a 29mm bar but be 30% lighter. Ben If the XR bar...
