I'm 1.5 hours north of Roanoke, in Harrisonburg, VA. I'd be happy to be anouther car in the convoy!

Lol, I was leading a "Scenic drive" for our local car club. This was 45 minutes into the drive, and they were making a "pit stop."

For you pervs, that's not a picture of the pit stop, they were walking back to the road. The purpose of the stop had already been accomplished. ;-)

Not a great picture of me, but it's the car that counts:

The title of this thread is, " ...rear strut brace." Unless you have one wild car, chances are you won'[t have any clearance issues ;-).

I just went outside in this ridiculously cold weather to check it just for you, Peter! Okay, that's only partially true, I had to move my car anyway. Thanks for your sacrafice in the name of science! From what I'm gathering, there are three types of racks that came in the XR! However, the most impo...

Rack Update

Well, I just tested my car, with the TRW (85XR), and it was not quite 3 turns lock to lock. A little more than 2.75, probably 2.85ish. Definately not over 3 turns though. My rack has the smooth surface, not waffle. According to MerkurEncyclopedia.com, irregardless of which is which, there are two ra...

Actually, I should be able to get the old one from Autozone by ordering the ATSCO 6441 Type 1 rack (vs. the "Type 2").

ZF or TRW Rack - which is quicker?

Hey Guys, Which is the quicker ratio rack - the 85-86.5 TRW, or the 86.5+ ZF? The ZF is the one with the "waffle" pattern. Merkurencyclopedia says the TRW is the quicker, at 2.75 turns lock to lock. Some folks disagree. Others agree... Could someone with a ZF rack please do a quick experiment and se...

Schedule of events?

I want to attend, but I don't know that I'll be able to come for two nights. Is there a tentative schedule of events for the Merkur side of things? Seminars, dinners, etc. (This would be my first Carlisle with you guys!).

Thanks!
